I'm a regular at Sagars and have been for a decade or more. Always swift service and entertaining chat with the waiting staff. Food is spot on and if we need something changed or heated up for example it's never an issue.Parking: Never not been able to get parked right outside the restaurant or in the two adjacent free car parks.

Food has great flavours. The dish sizes are quite small and it's also very expensive for what you get. Had to wait a considerable time to be seated to eat even past the reservation time.

Can’t fault it. Service was excellent, lovely and modern inside and curry was one of the best I’ve had.

We arrived at the Sagar on a very wet and windy evening, the table was booked for four at 18:00. It was already busy in there with diners and also guests for a large birthday party who were beginning to arrive at the same time. Nevertheless, we were seated in the foyer and asked what drinks we wanted while we perused the menu. The choices made were Poppadoms with the Sagar tray. starters 2 x Special Sagar Kebab, 1 x Chicken Zal Zala. Mains 2 x Lamb Sondia, 1 x Tandoori Mixed, 1 x Chicken Tikka Shashlik. Rice 1 x Onion Rice, 1 x Rashun Rice. Breads 1 x Puri, 1 x Chapatti. Despite it being very busy, we were shown to our table at 18:08, impressive. The Poppadoms and chutney trays soon followed, with the Sagar chutney being the favourite as it had a little heat with it. The layout of the restaurant is good, with the use of dividers adding to the feeling of privacy. It also wasn't overly loud, so reasonable conversation could be had. The staff were all very friendly, and not excessively obtrusive. Timely arrival of the starters, the Chicken Zal Zala had a lovely taste and was well constructed, but the best has to be the Special Sagar Kebab, basically a Seek Kebab infused with Cheese. This makes a massive difference and the taste is sublime, with or without any Raitha/Chutneys. Company excluded, this on its own was worth the visit. Then came the Lamb Sondia, which I paired with Rashun Rice. The Sondia is already an Apna Style curry, so plenty tasty enough, with a sharp heat that does not build into something unpalatable, and extra heat can be gained by eating the green chillies if necessary. We had the Lamb version, and the Lamb was well cooked, nice bite sized pieces and no trace of fat. The Rashun Rice is Rice with roasted Garlic, and was exceptionally good on it's own. Paired with the Sondia, they were the perfect match. My friend chose the Onion Rice, and that was a good choice too. The meals, combined with the drinks averaged at £30 per head, which is OK at time of writing, and in all a 5 star experience, with the company, food, and ambience combining to make a great evening out. This is the fourth time I have been to Sagar, and I will certainly visit again. Having been to many restaurants in the south Manchester area over the years, the fact we are willing to travel 33 and 10 miles respectively speaks volumes, and I can't recommend it enough, and a big thank you to all the staff for making it so.

15 years since we last went to Sagar, but we will be back again soon, excellent food great service, the chutney tray was the best we have had, and the Currys outstanding, especially the Chicken Tikka Lussi. The Chips well we always get a portion on the table, to nibble at with the Nanns and Rice, they were real chips and excellent with it.

Yes I know I don't eat Indian food but that never bothers me going to one, when the food came they forgot 2 dishes which my friends had ordered, mine came which should have been 1/2 roast chicken, salad, it came as chicken nuggets with gravy and a cold tomato on top, so then we asked about the drinks we had ordered, which again had been forgotten, yes this was a Saturday but it was no more than half full if that, my friends do not want to go back there,

Not visited for a while however we were not disappointed! Our table was ready on time and the greeting by staff was as we had expected, brilliant. The menu is great with all types catered for and when our food arrived it was delicious. Staff are professional throughout and the food is absolutely value for money. A visit is highly recommended but book your table, it’s a popular restaurant.
