We went to the stable gate for lunch, For starters we had chicken goujons and potatoe dippers with cheese, bacon and spring onion. For mains I had lasagna and my husband had smothered chicken. The food was absolutely amazing and the staff were attentive, friendly, knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend stable gate to friends and family.

We have eaten here on numerous occasions both lunchtime and in the evening, you're always welcomed by Leah, Stuart and the team, nothing is too much trouble. The food and atmosphere are great we would definitely recommend a visit.

Came for my birthday and the staff were amazing. There were balloons and a bottle of prosecco waiting for me on the table. What a lovely touch. Had a lovely meal and Olivia was the best. Thanks for making it a memorable evening x

Normally love this place, we come semi-regularly and always have a Christmas meal here with the family. This time, the quality has dropped abysmally.On the 22nd December, none of our party of approximately 15 people were happy with the food. My partner's Festive Burger arrived stone cold, staff did apologise and rectified it, but this meant that her dish arrived much later, once everyone else had finished eating and were ready to go. Because of this, I gave her my Festive Burger, and had the replacement myself.When the replacement arrived, the turkey was so old and hard that I couldn't chew through it, and the same can be said for the roasties which were completely blackened and inedible. The patty was dry and bland; the only flavour in the entire burger was from the cranberry sauce which should complement the flavour but instead overwhelmed the bland, overcooked and seemingly old ingredients so the only flavour was cranberry.I could forgive a mistake easily, but as this was on a remade dish to amend a previous problem, much more care and attention should have been given to the dish and to their customers.Only after leaving did I discover that every single person dining with us was sorely disappointed by cold and low quality, overcooked food.Looks like we will be finding somewhere new for our Christmas meals.(EDIT - will add pictures shortly)

Been having breakfast here fir years, the staff are extremely freindly and polite, especially Jenny who is often our server. And the breakfast is unbeatable quality.Vegetarian options: Always vegetarian options and the chef has even cooked things a certain way to my preference

1st visit in many years, took my 20 month old grandson for lunch and play.The restaurant is very clean, fantastic service, staff more than helpful especially the young man who greeted and served us at the bar. It wasn't overly busy and food arrived very quickly but was very good, the child's menu is very generous for. the price, we paid £29 for 3 soft drinks, 2 adult mains and a 3 course child meal.The play area isn't anything special and I did think £4.50 per child was expensive and the room was very cold, but all the kids were loving it.We will definitely return as they do different menu's Monday to Friday evenings and if the food is as good as we had you can't go wrong for the price or the excellent service.Dietary restrictions: We were asked straight away if we had any.

We walked in a stood at the entrance where a big sign says wait to be seated. One member of staff walked past without acknowledging our presence. Then another member of staff stood behind the bar and looked at us but said nothing. We walked out. It wasn't busy but the service was so bad, I didn't want to try the food.

Took the family here over Xmas, food was good, atmosphere was good, Our waitress Jenny was lovely, made us feel welcome nothing was too much, well worth the money, will definitely go again.Parking: No issues with finding a spot and it was free bonus.Kid-friendliness: All my kids are grown up but it was good to see other kids running around doing their own thing.
The food is good value for money and really nice. The server named Jenny is very polite, pleasant, helpful and efficient. She was explaining the different desserts to us. We'll definitely be back again, thank you.

Visited in December 2023 for a birthday treat with a good friend. The food was lovely. I had the beer battered haddock & chips for main and the profiterole sundae for desert, our server Jenny Rae was so welcoming and a friendly smile nothing was too much trouble for her. Stablegate has lovely atmosphere, and I would definitely recommend a visit if close by.

Lovely meal this afternoon. Family meal for 15 went smoothly. Food was excellent. Staff are very helpful to name Summer who took our long order and was very helpful. All staff very helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend.Parking: Car park at the front, plenty of parking spaces available.Kid-friendliness: Play area for children, really perfect.
