Great place for lunch ?

We have only come here for the breakfast on weekends a few times recently. Food is good, nice options. The beverages are very disappointing though. No decaf options. Hot chocolate is mostly sugar water. No pots of tea, just little cups. I hope they will sort out their beverages... we would come here a lot more. For now, it's back to 6Cut and Playfoots.

Went for mothering Sunday. To say disappointed.. I’d be under playing it. We go here regularly, Maybe once every 4/5 weeks. Went as a party of 8 for Mother’s Day. We were rushed (2 of our party were 20 mins late, yes annnoying and a pain, but in this 20 minutes we were asked 4 times how long they’d be). and the food, well, the food is usually gorgeous. But no one finished their food. It was all pre cooked, microwaved, soggy meals. That they had the check to charge £27 for. I think this will be putting us off our monthly visit. What a disappointment.

Fantastic pub, it really does have the lot. Great food, service and position. They have the sun all day so in the summer it’s perfect, it’s got the best Sunday Roast and the Salt and Pepper Chicken is fantastic.Staff are bang on as

Had a meal at this place. Recommended by a friend. Not a trained chef like I am. A very nice situated establishment. On the banks of the canal. Drinks are reasonably priced, likewise the meals. The staff were very good and polite. However, the cooking was not of the highest quality. The soup of the day was bland. Was suppose to be Tomato and pepper. But that was debateable. There was very little taste of tomato, overpowered with bell pepper and seasoning, and not bell pepper. The smokey BBQ ribs were overcooked, dry, and not one bit tender. But the portion has a starter was quite large. The BBQ sauce was reasonably nice. The salt and pepper chicken with rice was chosen as a main dish. the rice was just bland and did not taste as the menu suggested it should. The chicken was drier than Gandis flip flop and well over powered with pepper and very little salt. The hoi sin sauce did not taste much like hoi sin. A better accompanying sauce would have been teriyaki or sweet chilli, or just soy sauce. Would have been nice to get an option of sauces. Well presented and look very appetising. But the taste and prep of the food was sadly lacking. Gave this a 2 star rating due to the fact that the place was nicely situated, the price of the food was reasonable and the staff were very polite. However, the chef needs some training.

It's always nice to visit after a walk around Monton. It's a very busy place. It was sunny today, and the garden was packed.

Cannot recommend The Waterside highly enough. We went for my mum's 70th. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. This was my first meal out since being diagnosed as coeliac and the waiting staff were so helpful advising on their gluten-free options, of which there were plenty. We will definitely be back when we're in Eccles again.

Restaurant Closed. Bar Closed. No reception/No staff. Booked 3 mths in advance - NOT TOLD PLACE CLOSED UP!!! Rec'd email to use 2 sets of codes to open 2 boxes to obtain final swipe card to enter our room (which later stopped working). Freezing cold room. HEATING WAS OFF!! Had to email request to have heating turned on but husband luckily heard a workman in building who kindly helped. Even when heating was running, it was freezing in bed all night (I seldom complain of cold). Also have to email request for hairdryer/iron/ironing board. Free bottle of champangne/wine was not in room either. No clothes storage space except for narrow spaced 4 scaffolding poles with 4 hangers and a top and bottom board of reclaimed wood. I sent an email complaint to Waterside & Booking.com for a payment reduction. I ONLY RECEIVED A RESPONSE TO LEAVE SWIPE CARD BEHIND BEFORE EXITING BUILDING. HOW RUDE & AWFUL IN THIS COLD WEATHER. In 20 years of visiting Manchester area and family, we have never had this bad experience, always been happy with accommodation. As we had booked to attend a local family wedding WE HAD BOOKED A DELUXE SUITE!!! Even in a budget hotel you are supplied as standard with a hairdryer and reception facilities.

Came here for a Sunday roast with friends.Ordered the tri meat Sunday roast for 16.95..For this you got the meat, 3 roast potatoes a Yorkshire pudding... And the poorest selection of vegetables you have ever seen.Parsnips? NopeBroccoli? NopeMash? NopePeas? NopeGoing out on a limb..Swede? NopeOnions? NopeSo what do you get to accompany your 3 roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding?A selection of sprouts, thin shredded cabbage and carrot batons. It's basically all the veg which your family would leave after a Christmas meal. What was there was really tasty hence the 2 stars but it's the saddest Sunday roast I've ever eaten. (Please see photos) I felt sad for missing out on a proper Sunday roast. We came here to have a change from Tobys... I think I would have rather gone Toby's to be honest. Won't be coming back.Food & drinks: Burgers looked nice, but definitely avoid it if you are looking for a Sunday roast.

Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. We booked this for a works Christmas party on Friday 22nd December 2023. From the first contact with Natasha to leaving on the night everything was first rate. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The food was fabulous and a great night was had by all. Thanks to all at the Waterside.

We booked a last-minute table at 10pm the night prior for 7 people due to a cancellation elsewhere but then had to cancel unexpectedly due to one of the party taking seriously ill and to hospital in the early hours of the day of the booking. Management were rude and refused a refund of deposit paid. When asked why, considering the cancellation was less than 12 hours after the booking being made, they claimed that they had staff costs to cover due to our table being booked. Either they organise staffing at gone 10pm the night before shifts or they aren't being entirely truthful. Either way, I'd avoid. Lacking in compassion, rude and refusing to accommodate a genuine emergency on a day they'd absolutely be able to get the table covered.
