Lovely building, good ambience and very attentive friendly staff but unfortunately let down by the food. Starter of crispy duck/mooli salad contained some very small pieces of what appeared to be dried leather rather than duck. Main course of chicken and leek looked promising but pastry was just flakes but no substance and the filling contained 3 small pieces of chicken and a lot of liquid. Very disappointing. Would not eat there again.

Browns all over the place is so iconic, where you granted a great hospitality time and service.

A pub that must be kept in its true form. Look up the petition to retain a proper pub.

The aesthetics of the building were stunning, unfortunately the service and food did not live up to this. Long waits for ordering of drinks and food, long waits for drinks and food to arrive. Staff marching about. When the food did arrive it was clear that all dishes had been waiting for a long time under hot lamps, I personally ordered the crab linguine and this was dry and stale. I did mention to our server but only a whispered sorry was given. Our main server kept whizzing past us apologising for the poor service and explained that they were short staffed but the restaurant was not busy for a Saturday, why was the service so bad then? After looking forward to visiting your restaurant in Manchester, we won’t be going back.

The place itself is stunning, clean, and the staff are lovely. However, the food was a let down, which is why I wouldn't recommend it despite all the window dressing. A lot of it was flavourless - for example, the tofu was unseasoned jelly, the beetroot hash tasted of nothing, and there was no dairy free butter so my toast was just dry bread. The avocado wasn't even there, though stated in the menu. Other companions of mine assured me that it wasn't just the vegan brunch that was mediocre. If you guys could nail your food, Browns would be a stellar place and I would frequent it.

One of my fairly regular drop-in places when in Manchester.

The staff were very friendly. However, the Bottomless Brunch was ‘stingy’, one slice of toast for the avocado and cherry tomato dish which I chose. We had to keep asking for a glass of Prosecco.

Main courses very mediocre, food not very hot. Very expensive for what was served.

We visited for brunch during a trip to Manchester, the building itself is lovely and the restaurant inside is well laid out and very clean and tidy. I have an allergy which was easily catered for and the staff were extremely helpful and

We had been recommended to visit here by a member of staff at the browns in Liverpool and we were heavily disappointed. The bar was littered in filthy empty glasses, which I had to physically move out of the way to recieve our orderd drinks. No seating available in the bar area, plenty of seating available in the dining area which we wernt allowed to sit at. Got told to stand at the bar by a member of staff to then be told to move by another member of staff behind the bar. We just couldn't win. I was with my elderly mother who is bad with her mobility and could be doing with help fining a seat which was quite obvious. The staff made us feel unwelcome and totally in the way. We won't be visiting again.
