We shared a lovely lunch here with friends on 29th December. We all had different dishes and they were all excellent. Service great as usual. The waitress was lovely, and so sweet to our friends' young son. So sad to have discovered just a few days later that Greens Didsbury has now closed. Been here many times over the years - a very special place. Thanks and good luck to everyone at Greens. See you in Sale!

Oh Greens you never disappoint! Excellent food and bottomless brunch - the prosecco flowed. We did this with friends and it was brilliant - such fun. I'd do it again

Went here last night and wow - the Christmas menu was lovely and not too expensive. The staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be going again

First visit and very disappointed. One of our party of 10 had been many times but admitted that the menu hasn't changed for years. I had a burger which was dry and bland and my partner had the rogan josh and didn't finish it. On a positive note everyone enjoyed the starters. More vegetarian restaurants opening in Manchester which means more competition. If they don't want to change the menu occasionally then maybe a choice of specials would be good. Won't be going again.

When me and my girlfriend went here for our anniversary, we turned up at seven ish, and there was only one other table seated, so we were alone before our food was served, but the staff were still SO accommodating. Thank you greens for a lovely meal and a lovely experience

So dissapointed ate here a couple of years ago and it was great. Sunday lunch in a good vegetarian restaurant I expected more. 3 small roast potatoes lovely yorkshire pudding and gravy. Boring tasteless big serving of nut roast. A small serving of cabbage brocoli and sloppy mashed carrot and swede. Not overpriced but had far better vegetarian Sunday lunch pubs in the area. Cauliflower cheese would have given some excitement! Puddings were lovely though. Will not return for Sunday lunch.

Been here a couple of times. On the most recent occasion my partner had a Sunday dinner which he said was delicious. Another from our group had a Welsh rarebit which was very small for the price. I opted for the feta and spinach filo pie. The hazelnuts were uncooked and added nothing to the taste. It was very dry and needed a sauce. I see in some of the photos attached to people’s reviews that other people have had a sauce with this dish. It needs one. Also re the vegetables on the side. If you advertise it comes with roasted courgette I would suggest it’s good to give more than one peice of courgette. The portion size was small for the price, so needed a lot of veg to make up for this. It’s slightly odd that they are unable to bring people’s dishes at the same time. Every other restaurant seems to be able to do this. One of our group had finished her meal by the time we got ours. The people on the next table were complaining there was 45 minutes between two diners getting their food ok their table.I want to love greens as it’s local and we are vegetarians. But many other local restaurants are doing it better.

What a lovely experience, travelled from North Wales for an overnighter just to try Greens. Some (few) crazy mixed reviews online! We always make our own mind up, this was fantastic, food especially as we are vegan, staff and service were impeccable and all at a good price for the quality of food. No photos I’m sorry as we dived straight in. Hope the team are told how good they are.

Fantastic first visit to Greens for lunch. We shared the mushroom pancakes and arancini balls .. both were great & very tasty. For main we both had the mushroom Wellington which was by far the best Wellington we’ve had so far out! Carrot was to die for .. dauphinois also beautiful. My espresso martini was also gorgeous. Service was great, a lovely friendly lady and food arrived quickly. We can’t wait to visit again!

I’m sorry to say this is the second time I’ve been to greens, and I was really disappointed. For starters, I had the halloumi hot wings, I thought with it being a specifically vegetarian restaurant that there might be a little bit of a different take on this dish, but what arrived was simply three slices of halloumi, smothered in buffalo hot sauce (the one you can buy in the supermarket). I was surprised because I could’ve made this at home and it was so salty that the sauce and the cheese together just didn’t work. I actually felt quite ill after eating half of it as it was so overpowering. My friend had the oyster mushroom pancakes which looked nice but a simple dish to put together. I had the truffle mushroom wellington for mains, the filling tasted padded out with breadcrumbs or something similar and lacked any taste of truffle. Dauphinoise potatoes were perfect and my favourite part of the dish. The half a carrot was nice. My friend had the tofu Katsu curry, she loves Japanese food but left half of it. Overall it was such a mediocre meal for the price. Won’t be returning, which is a shame. There’s so much room for improvement with the level of new vegan options and interesting ingredients available nowadays the chefs don’t take advantage of it and are really missing a trick.

Why have I not gone before we asked. Amazing food, lovely staff and very reasonable in a classy restaurant. Definitely recommend.?

Such a let down. We were looking forward to some beautiful food today. Both of us have been vegetarian for 20 odd years and know the richness of possibilities when it comes to a non meat diet. We ordered the truffle mushroom wellington and the cheese sausages. Both dishes lacked seasoning. We added salt to the mash but it could have done with some cream or something to liven it up.Unfortunately the food was simply mediocre. The sausages were as good as ones you can source in supermarkets. Both of us left our meals partially eaten. We were underwhelmed. The reviews look so good too. The arancini starter was very good. So much so that we wished we'd ordered more instead of the mains. The wine was very good. This didn't make up for the rather disappointing main meals which weren't cheap. Wouldn't go back but as vegetarians we support the ethos.
