Fabulous food, best service from Fabio, exactly what I hoped for. The ribeye was cooked to perfection, as was the hogget. Empty plates were all we left (as well as a deserved tip)

I booked this restaurant as a surprise for my husbands birthday.. We are both huge james martin fans. I had requested a booth which was granted and my husband recieved a glass of bubbly and a birthday card. The food is exceptional and the staff are a credit to James Martin. Thank you for a lovely evening.

We had an amazing experience. We went for the Sunday Lunch menu for my husband's birthday. The service and the food were incredible. The bread and dipping oil with butter and salt was nice and warm. The onion and carrot soup starter was divine as was the belly pork. The hake with tandoori sauce was beautifully cooked and the texture of the roast beef was beautiful. The gravy was delicious too. The honeycomb on my husband's dessert was a triumph. I was too full to order a dessert.

I chose this restaurant for a special treat for my birthday. Restaurant itself looks nice perfect for a fancy occasion. Once you’re in the restaurant you forget you’re in a casino. Service was amazing! Fast and polite. Can’t complain about anything all the food was perfect. Bread and beef dipping given for free at the beginning was amazing! Started- had the wild mushroom toast. Perfectly balanced. Had fillet steak for main. Best steak I had ever tasted and chips were amazing. Wine was also spot on. Was definitely an amazing meal and worth every £. Paid £140 for 2 of us for two courses with wine. Which we thought was really good considering the quality. We will definitely be returning!

Took my friend for a 50th birthday treat, and we both loved it. The food was absolutely amazing and the staff very friendly and professional. As I told them it was a 50th birthday meal on booking, the waiter came out with 2 complimentary glasses of champagne and a card which we thought was a lovely gesture. I would highly recommend and definitely return.

What a treat! We used our gift voucher (present from daughters) and from start to finish our experience was outstanding. Delicious, beautifully presented food with flavours that tingle on the tongue. The Apple & berry dessert was out of this world, enhanced by watching James make it on an earlier show of his. Big shout out to Fabio our friendly, yet professional waiter - thank you once again guys ! Would highly recommend

Every part of this meal was beautiful. Starting with the service which was balanced perfectly between not being rushed and not taking too much time, All the staff were delightful and not overly formal. Mrs P had a salmon and beetroot tart which was bursting with lots of different flavours and I had the Ox Cheek pudding, which was so rich and unctuous with a lovely light suet. For mains I had a sirloin steak which was done to perfection with a really nice marrow bone sauce, The real star of the show was the hogget though (my wife let me have a taste of her's). I don't think I have ever tasted anything so tender and delicious. Desserts were outstanding as well. We'll be back here again for our next special occasion. Well done Mr Martin. From one Yorkshire lad to another, that were all right.

Not fine dining on any level - JM makes reference to a ‘spectacular restaurant’, the reality is something different. We arrived after going up 2 elevators to a casino floor, a place I would not have visited by choice. It was noisy and full of men who looked upon us as if we had walked through the wrong door. I was confused and climbed up another flight of stairs to be met by a receptionist who confirmed we had arrived at the restaurant. To be clear the restaurant is on a mezzanine overlooking a bar where the casino members gather. Slade was blaring out and when we asked the receptionist if it was always this noisy - she replied ‘wait for an hour and it gets louder.’ Now imagine that reality of the ambiance of James Martin, Manchester against his description of an ‘Incredible dining space’. I am sorry to say thing’s didn’t improve much. The staff are young, friendly, poorly trained and doing the best they can in what is a chaotic environment. Some of the more senior staff appeared to have adopted the ‘non-iron shirt ‘ approach. The food. Well, it was Christmas and I guess busy but Morrisons on a rainy Wednesday afternoon could have given JM a run for his money. James, at least put some seasoning on your shredded cabbage and sprouts, otherwise it’s just shredded cabbage and sprouts - cold and awful. Turkey cold and tough too is not very festive but a good foil for the bland veg. And the triple cooked roast potatoes, you cold lay tarmac with them they are so tough to cut. On a positive note the sticky toffee pudding was lovely. Most restaurants rely on returning custom and by now it’s must be abundantly clear to JM that people are not returning. A poor ambiance, over priced, over done food can never be acceptable in any self regarding restaurant.Sell it as a top class restaurant delivering poor ambience, poor over priced food is a one time experience. Only a fool would fall for it twice. Come on James, Manchester deserves better.

Me and my husband went to see James live in Sheffield a couple of weeks ago. The show was exceptional just as our visit was to the restaurant in Manchester last night. The food, service and staff were top notch. The 1st time we visited was for the 10 year tasting menu. Last night we chose the food ourselves. The Porterhouse steak was absolutely delicious. We had the whiskey croissant and the milk chocolate bar for dessert and they were both amazing. Looking forward to our Afternoon Tea in March ‘24.

Fantastic service from Tee. his ws our second time visiting the restaurant. The food was amazing as per usual. We had starters of wild mushrooms on toast and crab risotto, they tasted amazing.. We went for the steak and wine deal. The steak was done perfectly. The only negative from me was the chips over faced ne. I am not a great lover of chips and they were served in a bowl (everything else was'presented' ). We will be back to dine again.
