Excellent food. Great wine list with a few hidden surprises. Excellent service. Never fails to please. Good ambience and a well appointed, quiet dining experience.

Me and my partner had dinner and ordered 3 courses. I had the scallops to start which were very tasty and my partner had the Yorkshire chicken which she didn't enjoy and I ended up eating it. The problem was it was a cold ( which I assume it was meant to be ) pressed piece of chicken which although palatable lacked much taste and wasn't as expected due to scant description on the menu. For the mains we both had fish & chips of which the fish was excellent but the chips were poor due to being pale, hard and bland with a lack of crispiness. The Tartare sauce was home made and excellent but the mushy peas were pale and tasteless. I had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was full of flavour, my partner had the BFG ( as worded on the menu ), had to ask what it was, Black Forrest Gateau which although tasted good was nothing like the cake type dessert I was expecting. Finally we had latte coffee to finish which although ok was in a small cup instead of the tall glasses that we were expecting. Finally I think the total bill of £90 was a bit pricey, not helped by the £10.40 cost of a large glass of Rose wine.

The service appeared slower than on previous visits, despite not being very busy. If not for this aspect, it would be 5/5

Good food, good friendly service, good atmosphere. Warm and welcoming. This chef certainly knows how to cook fish. The cod was delicious . The portion size good.

As ever Great Food (and I mean great!) and excellent service - even dinning across a shift change made no difference to the high standards expected from The White Hart Inn

We booked for lunchtime. The restaurant is pleasant and had good ambience. The staff were friendly and the service was attentive without being overbearing. My wife had the chicken and I had stone bass, both were delicious. Good wine selection and the sticky toffee pudding was a great end to a lovely meal. Decent pub to finish off our drinks and look forward to returning.

Lovely spot with a comfortable dining rooms in a country rustic style set just off the bar area with a great choice of menus from sandwiches to a 2/3 course set menu & more, the staff were friendly & helpful, glad I’d booked ahead as it was a weekend lunchtime so quite busy. The food was tasty & nicely presented all in all a lovely experience & would visit again.

We have been visiting the White Hart for lunch for some 15 or so years and its always been excellent: the food, service and location. Cant ask for more!

We arrived slightly early but we’re shown directly to the table. From then on the service was brilliant, attentive but not intrusive. We had starters and mains and both courses were delicious and well presented. Probably a little more expensive than the usual pub grub establishment (which this wasn’t) but worth every penny. I would highly recommend.
