The food was absolutely disgusting! I had chicken strips, chips and beans the chips didn’t taste like they was cooked properly and the chicken was disgusting in the middle. They gave me about 5 beans I have took a picture??. My sister paid for a pizza which was around 8.60 and it was sloppy and tasted like it was from a supermarket ?Asda definitely has better pizza! I will not recommend anybody to eat here it was awful??.

Visited for lunch after walking the old ELR railway and part of the Bury Bolton Canal. Service was excellent, food was passable but great value with the offer available. Only gripe was that the keg beer was none existent. The John Smiths and Guinness were OK though! Can't praise the staff enough though!

What a waste of an evening. We booked online for 6:15, but upon arriving there is no staff to announce yourself to or show you to a table. Had to find an empty table ourselves, with the only available one being covered in food and drink stains from the last seating. When drinks were delivered we had to specifically ask for the table to be cleaned. We then waited almost an hour for our starters to arrive. The nachos were very good to be fair, but the chicken wings were lukewarm and okay at best. We then waited half an hour, during which time our empty plates were ignored by the passing waitress numerous times, and nearly two hours after arrival gave up on the mains and asked for a refund so we could leave. Staff were polite but just far too few of them. This place has been understaffed and shoddily ran for far too long. We've given it numerous second chances but will not be returning again.

The food was okay and we was having a nice evening until my baby badly burned his hand due to what I can only presume is lack of training and professionalism. The waitress had been making numerous mistakes through out the evening which we let slide until she decided to place a piping hot pudding directly in front of my 8 month old baby who the same second immediately reached out and put his hand on! I have been a waitress in previous years and I was trained to warn customers about very hot food/plates and about placing hot meals in front of children. This was a very upsetting experience and a memory we will not forget so all I ask is that you please train your staff on this specific area.

Been going 2-3 times a week but disappointed at latest 10% price rise for meal so will now have to cut down to once a week/fortnight.Last meal (classic mixed grill) was OK but slightly disappointing as chips cold and sausage was not very warm.

The food needs a bit more care as some of what we ordered was spot on but others were lacking professionalism.Kid-friendliness: The food for my nephew wasn't to any high standard.

Awful! Order crispy chicken wings and they were completely undercooked. Behind the crispy batter was a pink undercooked mess. Told a member of staff and she acted like it was a regular occurrence. She brought us out some new ones and they were not even the same chicken wings they were completely different type of wing. We was already to put off to eat them because every single wing in the original bowl was pink. Not just one. Never again. Cheese on chips on cheap and the nachos were extremely soft like they had been left out for a few days. Awful experience!

Couldn't get a table at a sizzling pub near me so tried the Lock Keeper and success, booked a table for two.Got there at 6-40pm stood waiting for over ten minutes wondering if anybody could be bothered to ask us had we booked a table. My wife decided to ask the young man who was serving behind the bar, who said I'll be with you in a minute, then five minutes later he asked us had we booked a table, then took us to a very small table for two in a drab rough looking part of the restaurant, then off I went to the bar to order where I was told there would be an half hour wait, an hour and five minutes later we received our meal which was ok apart from my wife's steak being on the tough side, her onion rings and mine were not cooked properly and were pale and soggy, also my salt and pepper mushrooms were over cooked and rubbery. Due to our disappointing experience we will not be returning to the Lock Keeper ever again.

The staff here were all lovely. Nice sized car park with disabled bays right outside the main door. Kids play area inside with supervision. Menu was plentiful and cheaper than a lot of other places we have visited. The dessert menu was fabulous - we tried the Black Forest Sundae. Can't wait for our next visit here.

Went in for a quick bite to eat. What waste of 30quid. I ordered the fajita sizzler with halloumi. The peppers were massive and not cooked had to send back. Wasnt the best just looked lazy the way it's put together. And then my son had the 8oz sirloin steak he wanted it rare came out medium well.. the whole order looked sloppy and rushed. 3 stars
