This was our third year having Christmas dinner at the Gallows. Yet again the meal was delicious and plentiful, their sticky toffee Christmas pudding is amazing! A glass of fizz and canapés on arrival is a nice touch too. There’s a lovely festive welcoming atmosphere. Christmas music on the television and not too loud as to be disruptive. A previous review said there was football on? Not on Christmas Day there wasn’t. All the staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. We’ve already booked for this year as have many others. Thank you so much Rachel, David and all the team for spending your Christmas Day making ours special.

We had such a lovely night. Great atmosphere, amazingly friendly staff who looked after us perfectly and the most gorgeous slow cooked beef brisket I have ever eaten in my life. 10/10 from me!

We've had a lovely lunch. I was over the moon with the brisket. The presentation was top notch with a good selection of lagers. On top of that our dog was given plenty of treats by the friendly staff. We'll definitely be back to sample more of the menu

Lovely warm atmosphere. Staff efficient, quick service, cleared table promptly, helpful and polite. Food was amazing, lovely and hot when served, well presented.

A very disappointing Christmas lunch. It was very basic no salt and pepper on the table condiments served in paper ramekins. There was absolutely no festive spirit football on the television and to top it of the blonde lady behind the bar needs a lesson in customer service. At £85 per head not including drinks I would have thought that some effort could have been made I won’t be returning.

Called in by chance as our usual place was unexpectedly closed. Welcomed at the bar, service and food was very good. Had the Golden Oldie 2 course menu, bargain, tasty, and very good portions. Will call again and book next time to be sure of a table.

The food was lovely despite us sending something back because it wasn’t cooked correctly also one of us didn’t get their starter and we had to ask for it as they had forgot about it. SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE despite us spending £175.00
