Very busy on a weekend, had afternoon tea, was lovely and great value for money.

Staff on counter really pleasant and serving as fast as possible while busy. Food average very basic. What did get my attention was the member of staff from the kitchen who came out to tell a table of customers extremely loudly that they had accepted the wrong order even though it was what they had ordered. Apparently they should of waited until their whole order was brought to table to know it was their order or not. Not sure I've ever had to do this myself anywhere. If staff can't take the order to correct table I don't think staff should blame the customer in the middle of the restaurant for everyone to hear. Still shouting as she stomped back to kitchen. Not something I would of sat quietly about like the unfortunate customers did. Very disappointing for the rest of the hard working staff.

If I read some of the reviews before visiting, I likely would have hesitated... but our experience was far different than some of the reviewers...I thought it was very good for the price compared to a lot of garden centres. The savouries were good and the cakes were great. The Americano was good too.It wasn't lavish but neither were the prices, I do not know what some reviewers who left 2 and 3 stars are complaining about. If you want luxury, go somewhere luxury and pay luxury prices because this was very reasonably priced and of good standard. We will be returning ?☕

For a special birthday treat. £36, I expected better and left a little disappointedPre booked. We were asked about drinks on arrival to the counter before sitting. My pregnant daughter asked for bottle water. After sitting. 5 minutes later, the waitress brought over a glass of tap water, a tea pot and cup then away she went without a word.A bit later the food was put on our table and off she went, same again. The food, was a one finger sandwich, half a wrap, a sausage roll and a soggy quiche. Cakes were small as normal on an afternoon tea with a currant scone, (not warm) ready filled with whipped cream and jam.It was ok, similar to some others I've had but nothing felt nice, it wasnt special. The atmosphere was a packed cafe with a rushed off their feet young waitress. We weren't once asked if we needed anything else or approached again. We just ate and left and we could have done that with soup and a sandwich.

My first time here today ( my parents have been a few times ) nice bright space, tables nicely spaced out. Plenty of choices to suit various palates including separate gluten free menu. Everything we chose was fresh and tasty ( lattes, chicken sandwich, toastie and Victoria sponge and gluten free brunch ).

Just took 45 minutes for literally the worst breakfast I've ever had to arrive. And the coffee wasn't great.Wife's scone was nice.

The prices on the menu were not the same as what we were charged . Only by 20p or 10p but worrying how many people this may be happening to. My advice would be check your receipts. Emailed the cafe 3 days ago ref my concerns and no reply back.

The service was ok, I only had drinks and a bowl of chips. The chips were nice and clearly very freshly done! I did notice non of the kitchen staff wore hairnets or hats. It’s certainly a place to visit as a treat. I’d recommend sitting in the conservatory area on a nice day with the door open this is a nice area.

Foods good. Been loads of times. Went in a couple on months ago. Had dirty cutlery. Ask guy with beard for replacement. Got a replacement and a side dish of attitude. Went back in today. Dirty cutlery again. Asked for a replacement. Blond lady appologised. Man with beard gave us a dirty look. We wont be returning. I dont eat with dirty knives at home, so wont be paying dearly to do it whilst im out. I can only suggest if the man with the beard doesn’t want people to complain about the hygiene, clean better. He did a half hearted job of cleaning up some plates that he had dropped while we were there. Makes me wonder what the hygiene level behind the scenes is like
