One of the best breakfasts I've ever had, a lovely start to the day and a great view of the river

We had a fabulous meal at Libbys last night. It was a family birthday meal and we had booked for the upstairs area which is a lovely space. The staff were lovely and David was really friendly and spot on with service. Every dish we ordered was really good especially the jamon croquettes and the braised lamb pasta .We ve not been in the evening for a while bit will definitely be returning soon.

Even though it was a very busy Sunday morning, staff very friendly and attentive, bloody good black coffee, the best gluten free coffee and walnut cake , definitely would recommend.Dietary restrictions: Good gluten free options

I have been going to Libby’s since it opened, probably over ten years ago. The food is excellent, the staff lovely. I unfortunately tend not to come anymore because the WIFI is intermittent, and after many years remains unreliable for anyone wanting to work from here. I hadn’t come for around 2 months, because of this issue and working from other cafes and venues with reliable internet. Lo and behold less then half an hour into my visit, the internet/wifi goes down and as of writing this it is still unavailable. Just a warning to anyone who wants to work remotely from here, bring a 5G hotspot or similar.

Libby's used to be my favourite place to eat. ( two years ago)Unfortunately at present the high standards have slipped and the food (pastries) are just average now.I hope the new management can turn it around.

This was my 2nd visit to Libby’s, after an enjoyable first visit I wanted to treat my Mum to breakfast here however was overall disappointed and won’t be back in a hurry. We arrived at around 1.30pm on Sunday, so had missed the morning rush. We waited a long time for 3 soft drinks, and I could annoyingly see the drinks ready on a tray at the end of the bar, however about 4 members of staff walked past them (who didn’t look busy) before we eventually were served. Another table left after waiting too long for their coffees. Food was fine, however the waiter served us 1 plate of food and when we answered yes to some sauce he went off for 5 minutes getting sauces, and left the other 2 plates of food on the pass. Another staff member had to deliver the other 2 plates. It’s pretty basic stuff to serve all hot food to the table before going and getting sauce. As we just started to eat our food, it had just gone 2pm when food service stopped, and the chefs in the kitchen cranked up their music and I had to sit through Soulja Boy which just made the atmosphere really annoying. Conversations in the kitchen got louder with swearing, if you’re going to have an open kitchen with plenty of customers still sat down eating, have a bit more respect. Overall what ruined the experience was the staff and service, although generally friendly it felt like a very young and inexperienced team. There was no sight of anyone really managing the place, as someone who’s worked in hospitality for many years it’s plain to see Libby’s is badly managed, which is a really shame given the location and concept.

Went for an early evening booking 5pm. Ordered some drinks and when asked if we’d like to order we asked for a few more minutes the waitress rolled her eyes to her colleague. Food was great apart from the meatballs which were more like cannon balls. Obviously cooked in advance but were too tough to eat. Still we were having a pleasant evening. At 6.15pm we were told that the table was required back at 6.30pm. We were ok with that despite not being told that at the time of booking and when we were seated at the table. Then 5 minutes later we were told again that our table was needed back. A nice evening tarnished. It feels like there is no front of house managing the the staff maybe some staff training is needed?

Food and service are good, and friendly to pets, kids and muddy boots.

Lovely cafe. Superb service. Steak sandwich a little underwhelming. Excellent coffee and cake.

Not impressed at all. Our food was late. Another two couples who arrived well after we ordered and paid got served their food first. The girls at the bar didn't seem fussed about it. When our food finally arrived, the toast was burned and we had to take off all the burned bits (most of the bread in a toasty!). We weren't offered any cutlery or tissues, had to go and ask staff to get some. Table wasn't clean when we arrived (there was even a bonus baked bean on it). I understand they get busy, but this was not a great experience at this occasion.

Was my first visit today to libbys after I’ve been recommended by a few people - safe to say I won’t be returning again. Was really busy when we arrived but went really quiet within the first 10 minutes to no excuse for the poor, slow service, I was handed my drink with a big black hair in the glass?we told the waitress about this and asked for a fresh one to which this appeared to be a chore as I was left with an eye roll. I ordered a steak sandwich to which the bread was literally wet through with grease resulting in me not eating it, my friends eggs royale was full of egg shell as well. When asking for the bill the lady who worked there was incredibly rude to my friend - not one person came to check during the meal if the food was ok, after we paid the waitress (same one who was rude to my friend) said was it okay and we said well no not really, stated the points above and we got a response of ‘well I find it hard to believe as that hasn’t happened before’ absolute shambles of a cafe won’t be returning.
