We always call in the rectory for a drink whilst shopping in stockport. Little girl has a children's meal. Dave the kitchen Manager was out on the front serving, what a friendly fantastic Guy! And the lovely Miranda who's an asset to the place and represents loyal hard working staff! There over 20 years!

I feel let down because it hasnt stayed as it was last year. I feel like its really gone down. I came for breakfast and the plates and mugs were filthy, I was honestly shocked at the mess of the place. Didn't feel like even eating afterwards. Other than that, staff are really kind and helpful.

Probably the worst experience I’ve ever had in a food place/ pub.Really understaffed, waited 45 minutes for food that I specially ordered. When my order came it was a beef patty on its own on a plate with no bun, cheese or bacon on it, just literally the burger … I genuinely thought it was a wind up and a New York chicken meal which came with and cold. 45 min wait for a wrong order and cold food. We ordered garlic bread to which stunk of fish and tasted like fish. I had to ask the member of staff to smell it as it stunk of fish and she agreed. My friends meal then came and was cold, the whole thing.I got a refund but it’s just not acceptable service or food, we weren’t the only ones to leave, hungry, annoyed and unhappyFirst time coming here and had the worst experience possible. The girl who dealt with us when we were unhappy was the only good thing about the place and the decor

Went to see santa with my grandson. Paid £8 paid prebooked. Got a cheap activity book as a present for a 22 month old. Santa tried but was too young and thin to be anything like santa. Didn't stay for the meal as it was packed and as usual understaffed. Also sat at a high table where my grandsons highchair was half the height of ours. My best advice give this dire money making scheme a swerve. Thankfully saw a decent Santa on Stockport market for free and got a much more sensible present of a selection box.

The staff seem more stressed, and confused than friendly or affable here which can put a damper on things but it’s okay …. When I last had food here two years ago it wasn’t very good at all — but hopefully I can try it again to change my mindIt’s also in something of an awkward location so unless you live nearby it isn’t somewhere that you’d go out of your way for, typically

Apart from free parking, and they have, up to a point, this place has everything you could want, from a pub, when you are about halfway through a boy's weekend away.Great beer, which goes to show that Greene King can do it, great location, lovely quirky building, wish we didn't have to leave so soon, to go to the football!

Really disappointed in every way with this restaurant. It was extremely quiet when we went in & no wonder! Waited for a good while to actually find any staff. After ordering food & waiting, it eventually got bought to out table & literally thrown at us. No questioning as to who had ordered what, it was just chucked down. My daughter ordered nachos & got badly fried thin bread with 1 dribble of cheese. After asking if she could have some more cheese she was presented with a gravy jug of cold nacho cheese. My over fried chicken tasted of pure grease & the camembert served in a Cereal bowl. The bread that was served with it could only be described as concrete. Good job we could see the funny side but after attempting biting it I chipped a tooth!! My friends chicken looked like it was warmed up rather than freshly cooked & looked as appealing as eating raw plastic sprinkled with dust. She wrapped it to take it home for the dog who even turned her nose up at it! Impossible to get a drink as playing hunt the staff got boring so only had one, not a bad thing as they were lukewarm & apparently the ice machine was broken. Upon leaving & waiting to pay I did tell the team member about the awful experience & that he should tell the "chef" to be met with an uncomfortable laugh & no more. This place needs a serious overhaul!

I was tempted by the Mega Breakfast. The food was well cooked and tasty. However, the tea and coffee was just served in a small cup. I don't know why they couldn't provide a small teapot or caffetiere? The premises themselves and the decor is a bit tired but in a lovely setting.Vegetarian options: They are availableParking: First 3 hours are free, but you must still get a ticket.

Disappointed. Booked in for two breakfasts with Premier Inn. Impressive conservatory but it was cold, lots of people with their coats on. Some grubby cutlery, crockery and glassware, some seats markedly stained. Cold coffee on one day though fresh quickly brought out when asked; no orange juice, Sunday cooked breakfast part overcooked but tomatoes undercooked, considerably better on Monday - you order breakfast as there's no buffet. Staff pleasant but grubby cutlery etc looks like poor housekeeping.
