First time recommended by friends. The food was amazing. We all had 4 different meals and all were nice but them chunky chips were the best. Taking the order was a little slow we had to ask but other than that will Definately be back just lovely atmosphere

Had a post Christmas family lunch at the Navigation Inn, we received a very warm welcome. Everything on the menu looked delicious, we were spoilt for choice. Food was lovely, portion sizes are on the large side, so no room for pudding unfortunately. Looking forward to going back there sometime in 2024!

Great beer, great service and great food. What’s not to like. Special mention for Jo on the bar who is the essence of professionalism whilst still having fun with the customers.

We had a delicious meal - the beef brisket special was very tasty and I was pleased I could order a small portion of fish and chips - leaving space for a pudding! Lovely, attentive service too.

We are regular visitors to The Navigation and have been for 17 years. Visited on Sunday for lunch and was left gobsmacked at the rudeness of the lady behind the bar. How this lady has got a job in the hospitality trade is beyond me! We thought that the pub had changed management and I actually asked the waitress where Sue was and was told she was on holiday. It’s possible the rude lady was the covering manager. I wouldn’t have ever visited again if I thought Sue had left for good. Please Sue reassess your staff before leaving your pub in the hands of someone so rude to your loyal customers!!

I don’t live far from here but called in as some family are staying in dale cottages, however i couldn’t find it and this pub was on the advertisement photo, (booking.com) so i called in to politely ask for directions. I was told “im not the land lady, i just work here” and she rudely stomped off. The nice couple at the side kindly suggested where they thought the cottage then was and spoke in a normal kind manor. (Probably to help break awkwardness) However I’ve heard the food is suppose to be nice but certainly wouldn’t be going in to try for the sheer rudeness of this bar lady. Im really glad as it was suggested not long after for a meal early next week. I don’t think I’ve after left a bad review if im honest but this lady left me slightly furious and in shock how she thinks she can be that damn rude to people.

Delicious food and very friendly staff. Nothing too much trouble. Highly recommend and will be returning again. Good and varied menu with vegan options.

All very good, including the landlady experience until the food arrived. That is when the good experience turned into a problem. My friend Bill ordered chillie con carnie which is, as it happens is my speciality at cooking! This one tasted like minced beef had some chilli chucked into it. Simply just a tasteless but overly hot lunch. Even worse is to follow. I specifically asked about the cheese and onion pie. The landlady said “it has two cheeses & is a big seller” so I ordered. My mistake. It arrived complete with baked beans and thick chips, but very obviously the pie had been microwaved so the pastry was very soft. I returned it to the bar and she agreed to serve a different meal. I ordered haddock and peas which was excellent and would recommend that meal. So to summarise; my pal & I ate at different times (as my meal was sent back) but no consideration when it came to the bill. The beer was excellent. The lady behind the bar was a wonderful host, but for the food……..I’d give it a wide berth.

Lovely Inn, friendly staff, comfortable surroundings! Food was excellent value for money and delicious, we had the cheese pie which was lovely and the roast beef dinner, if I’m being very picky I’d prefer the beef a little more pink but that’s a personal choice! We will be back!

I cannot fault this Inn! Having wanted to visit the Navi for a few years after visiting the area. I finally got around to it this weekend. What a treat! The Inn is very welcoming and cosy as soon as you walk in and has been finished to a high standard.\\n\\nHowever, the true gem in the crown is the food! A great selection to meet any requirements and a fantastic list of specials!\\n\\nAll the food was delicious, and I would highly recommend it to all!

Devastating tbh, we came for our two year anniversary for a quite meal away from the world to be surrounded by old drunken men screaming with laughter, the place was hot, overpacked group meal bookings and old people shouting... It's ruined our night, food was basic but service was 10/10 for friendly and helpful x

This used to be our favourite ‘go to’ place always reliable for quality of food, service atmosphere. However we went last night (usually you can’t get a table) the prices are a little eye watering!! Scampi and chips £18, fish and chips 15 ( my husband was nt keen on the fish) £16 for ox cheek which just came in a large amount of gravy with chopped carrots. Nearly all the traditional dishes were around £12.95.
