Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced at a Greenhalgh's. 4 staff members all stood behind the counter doing nothing while 1 member of staff mops around them. Poor selection of hot pastry goods . Staff unaware of what stock they had left. I asked if they had any soup and they pointed to a sign instead of saying todays soup. Once they established there were some pasties in the oven I paid for three and then after waiting was served one. I said I had paid for 3 and the member of staff said "I didn't know" instead of apologising. 2 customers couldn't decide what to get and instead of engaging with the customer staff talked amongst themselves and lost the sale they could have had.I would expect better from a Greenhalgh's store when it's quiet, its just not good enough and its simple customer service. Perhaps additional customer service training would be beneficial.

Went in earlier just after 12 and they had no sausage rolls.

Every time we visit after 1pm there is very limited items to purchase , staff appear to be cleaning up instead of cooking more products, soup seems to be a particular problem.

I purchased a 4 x pack of soft brown rolls on Monday 27th November. When slicing open the rolls it appeared the bread was very dry and crumbly, obviously not fresh. The BBE date on the packaging was 28th November.I added sandwich filling , thinking this may improve the roll, it did not and I ended up binning all 4 rolls.I returned to the Standish gate shop where I purchased the bread with the empty packaging and explained to the staff member my experience. I was told It was not possible to obtain a refund or replacement without the product.I understand the principal of this but still feel disappointed with the service and quality of the goods.Here's hoping this is an isolated incident but it is unlikely I will shop there again to find out

Good grub but the staff in this shop need a personality transplant one in particular no manners atall if you can't be courteous to people get another job

Superb quality of bakery good. Expensive, but you pay for what you get. This is not a place were there is more pastry than filling. Pies are full to the brim. And the cakes are just the best. Staff ALWAYS friendly and happy to help. Always queueing down the street this place, and there's a reason why. If you're healthy eating they will make a lovely fresh salad. And the soups are the best ?
