Great breakfast butties, always well cooked, hot and delivery is always on point, my only two criticizes are your not open on a sunday when i'm working in the area and the cost of delivery is high but for the quality of the food it's worth it :)

Friendly staff and good

Raw sausage in my large breakfast, not what you expect for almost £10. What a joke. They did bring a replacement meal because of this but this was slightly cooked more but still not properly cooked l. May be sausage roll meat which is very low quality for the price.

Decent ham salad sandwich and meat and potato pie, a 3.5 for the sandwich as the quality of the ingredients could be better the pie a 4.2 just needs more pepper

Update June 2023...Just had the worst pies I've EVER tasted, not just from this place, but from anywhere. Dry, burnt crust, tasted like they had vinegar in them, almost felt like yesterdays warmed up. Tried to eat half of a meat n potato but it's just awful. Put them in the bin. Whoever is making the decisions in this place needs locking up. I come once a fortnight for pies. It was always something to look forward to back in the day. Now it's a lottery as to whether they are average or rubbish. Time to give it up. An awful shame.Previous review/June 2022Been coming here for 35 years since Joe & Mary started and the pies have always been absolutely amazing. Until these last two owners. First bloke who took over ruined the pies (pastry always raw and too much pepper). The second new owner has improved on that previous disaster, but now the pastry is hard round the edge and the filling is way too dry. Filling defo needs some moisture and to spill out when you cut them. I reckon they might be part cooking em the day before and then finishing em off next morning. Ruined a Newtown institution. It’s an art this pie lark and it’s worth getting it right. Please get them meat n spud wet again!

Visited today with my children (teachers are on strike). The lady serving us was very impatient and kept scowling because we were deciding what we would like. I was made to feel like an inconvenience. We purchased some sandwiches which were OK, 2 pies which I have to say were very nice and some brownies which I can honestly say were awful. They tasted burnt and not at all like brownies, unfortunately they had to go in the bin. 2 stars because the pies were nice but I won't be returning anytime soon.

Arrived 2 hours late soaking wet, stone cold and completely crushed. Smelled overwhelmingly of grease. Was inedible- all got binned. Will never order from here again.

Food was late, cold and was missing items. Advised missing item will be delivered when possible so unsure when it will arrive.

Down to visit friends near Wigan couple of weeks ago. Live in Scotland but born not far from Wigan. Friends said to pop in for local meat and potato pies and steak pies. Had tried one earlier so bought a couple to take back to Scotland. 12 M&P and 7 St. Did not last long with our family. Clean and tidy shop and staff. Seems to be family run, and reasonably priced too. Coming back down soon for a reload. Great, Thanks.
