Thoroughly enjoyable evening at The Binsted Inn Burns Supper celebrating the Scottish poet. The team were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to ensure the event was a success. Great atmosphere and the food was delicious. It’s not easy to make haggis look, as well as taste, delicious but you nailed it! Thank you.

Brilliant hosting of the Burns Night team….the venue was glowing and the food and atmosphere were top notch. And the Haggis…brilliant! Bravo ?

Firstly, our room was lovely. Comfy large bed, fluffy towels and nice shower. Bottles of water supplied. Very tranquil. Breakfast very good quality and freshly cooked. However, dinner let this hotel down. Overpriced food and wine. I had chicken and mushroom pie, which was sloppy and had more carrots and ham in, than chicken and mushroom? Thin pastry top, no potatoes or chips, just greasy cabbage and peas in a tiny bowl £17? Wine £27 a bottle. Service by a young lad who really didn't want to be there. 10% service charge added, not a fan, would rather tip as justified, this wasn't. Would stay again, but not eat in the restaurant.

We were staying the night so decided to eat in the restaurant. The restaurant has a very pleasant ambience and we felt very comfortable. We both had specials. I had the Chicken Pie which came with greens but strangely came with nothing else....no chips or mash....luckily I asked so added some of their delicious "proper chips" on the side. But that did bump up the price of my meal. I thought it might be a really big pie but it wasn't really, it was nice but it was the style where you have the pastry just on the top. Wife had the Chicken Korma. Sticky Toffee pudding was amazing. I also had an Espresso Martini which was very good. Service was fairly good but we did feel a bit unattended from time to time. Service charge is added automatically, not a massive fan of this....prefer to choose to add than to have to specify if you want it removed. I was fine with leaving it though. Would definitely return.

It has such a comfortable and welcoming ambience. We will definately be back. Thankyou to all the staff who made it a very pleasurable night. Breakfast also perfect ?

Fantastic - will go back again. Amazing service and excellent food. We loved the place and the staff. It is conveniently situated midway between our homes so location is ideal.

Luxuriously furnished pub with rooms in the countryside. However, whenever we go there, there always seems to be an issue with food choices, not on the menu, coffee machine, broken etc. When it arrives, food is generally good Can’t help feeling that someone needs to get to grips with the management of the pub. A lot of unexplored potential, here.

Great country pub in a pretty village. The decor was modern and impressive. The food was even more impressive. We had lunch from the light bites menu and very much enjoyed our scampi and chips. The staff were brilliant - welcoming and helpful. There were leaflets in the entrance with maps showing country walks starting and finishing at the pub.

We thought we would try a Sunday Roast at this lovely pub - I must add that we tend to visit local pubs every other Sunday to check out their offerings and score then out of ten as an overall experience. Let’s start with the positives - this is a lovely refurbed modern pub that actually feels more like a restaurant dining experience. We were shown to our table by a friendly young barman who took our drink orders and then spoke to an efficient female waitress who apologized when taking our order that there would be a bit of a wait on food. I always appreciate being told this and we actually waited no more than half an hour. I chose pork loin with crackling and hubby chose stuffed chicken with stuffing and Parma ham. The roast potatoes were awesome - crispy and plenty of them. The side accompaniment of veg is where it began to go down hill- root veg was great - clearly roasted with parsnips, carrots, mixed peas/leeks and a half a bowl of broccoli that I wasn’t able to cut through as it needed a few more minutes cooking time. I do like a bite to my veg but sadly couldn’t even get my knife through the stem to cut it. I know I could have sent it back but chose to leave it and eat the other veg as there was plenty there and we also ordered an extra £5 side of cauliflower cheese with truffle. ( I will add that some of pubs we visit the cauliflower cheese does come out as the veg offering but I didn’t mind paying extra as this had the added bonus of truffle!) . You could taste the truffle and the cauliflower was cooked ( it did have some bite but that’s nicer than soggy cauliflower) Meat choice- pork loin - 2 slices of pork loin ( the fat does need trimming on this cut of meat). This comes with crackling ( which can only be described as a huge puff of a crisp and very light in colour- it was edible and tasty enough) Chicken stuffed- wrapped in Parma ham- in all honesty this was more stuffing than chicken. I think the chicken had literally disintegrated from the cooking process and it wasn’t overly appetizing to look at due to the Parma ham cooking and turning brown as part of the roasting process. I appreciate it’s a bit different but in all honesty a chicken supreme ( bit of leg, breast and stuffing on the side would have been appreciated more). My Yorkshire pudding was a huge puffy cloud. Now the pudding part that I get really upset about. Let’s talk about custard. We both love custard and get really excited when crumble and custard is on a pub menu. Give me a good traditional hot pudding anyday. The crumble arrived in a ramekin …but the custard offering…oh my…what on earth was this?? A small ( and by small I mean no more than a tablespoon of custard in a shallow small metal pot came on the side) - what a disappointment. The custard to crumble ratio was all wrong - the crumble itself was perfectly lovely. The apple with a hint of cinnamon was cooked to perfection. But I wish the pub invested in some small jugs to serve along the side of the pudding. The custard was in fact delicious. You may say to me - ‘Why didn’t you ask for more custard? I shouldn’t really have to should I? I did consider this but could see the staff was busy with an electrical issue and the last thing the poor girl needed was me demanding more custard! So overall experience for a Sunday roast 6/10 Overall bill came to £75 for two roasts an extra cauliflower cheese, a bitter shandy, medium glass of Primitivo, 2 puds and 10 per cent service charge.

A really lovely stay at the Binsted Inn. The location is wonderful although we couldn’t explore as the weather was awful. Beautiful, comfortable, warm room overlooking the pub garden and field behind was lovely, although may have been noisier in the summer. There was a fan in room for the hotter months. Nice smelling toiletries, water pressure in tap was abysmal but shower was good. The pub itself is very tasteful decor, nicely laid out, wood burner. The garden with pizza oven looked lovely for the summer. Staff are a credit to the place and so welcoming. The reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 was that the food was good but not perfect. Fish pie overcooked, burger a bit dry. Sticky toffee pudding excellent and breakfast the next morning was nice. Good wine list and drinks selection. Overall I would definitely recommend this pub and will come back in the future to use it as a base for some walking in the beautiful area it’s set in.

We eat at the Binsted Inn quite often. As a coeliac it has the best gluten free food locally and always plenty of options on the menu. Our last visit was a particular highlight thanks to the pineapple arancini - amazingly delicious. I hope these stay on the menu as a regular feature!

Stayed here the night before my wedding, as I was getting married down the road, and it's such a lovely place. All the staff are really helpful and they really encourage a nice, relaxed atmosphere. Also very dog friendly and very accomodating. Rooms are lovely and clean and the breakfast was top notch. I would recommend this place to anyone and would certainly stay again.

Average food, below average portions, average service, way above average prices, £10 for a glass of wine, first and last time

Excellent welcoming service. Good sized, clean rooms. Good breakfast served. We had a nice meal in the pub downstairs in a lovely relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend.
