Best eating out experience I have had for a long time. More expensive than my usual dinners out but very much worth it. I cannot recommend enough!

Two weeks before Christmas. Table for 10. (At least 1 a vegetarian) What could possibly go wrong? Answer? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Food was excellent. Well cooked, served hot and exactly as described in the menu. Special shout-out to the beef cheeks, the twice baked soufflé and the smoked salmon. Staff were knowledgeable and professional. I’d like to thank all those who served us, took our orders and generally looked after us - Thank You. You made a good evening even better. Varied options on the menu for various tastes and a comprehensive wine list. What more could you want? Haven’t eaten here for 15 years. It was good then, it’s good now.

Came here tonight with my dad, sister and husband to celebrate our wedding which we had just had after driving more than 2hrs from Somerset. The service was fine but food was nothing special despite the high reviews I read. The risotto was just OK but could have certainly done with more flavour. The crab was fine but nothing special. The duck was cooked well and the only thing we ordered that was above average, while the pork was dry, tough and lacked depth of flavour. I emailed and clearly informed Keith from the team that it was our wedding and not a single thing was done to acknowledge our visit or make it special. None of the staff even bothered to say congratulations. Maybe there was an element of discrimination being that we were the only people of colour in the restaurant. I mentioned this to the waitress upon our departure and she did not utter a single remorse nor did she display any signs of care. I would whole heartedly suggest all to avoid. The food is not worth the price and they clearly do not care to accommodate special requests especially if you are a person of colour. I will be sharing this across my social media platform, suggesting others to avoid this place.

A very beautiful building in the countryside. The intimacy of the small, beautifully decorated interior rooms made it feel very homely. The table was very well presented with a crisp white table cloth and fresh flowers. The menu was small, but with a good variety of dishes, all freshly prepared and beautifully presented. Well cooked and very tasty. Service was impeccable, professional and friendly.

The Dew Pond never fails to impress. I really must visit more often. Delicious starter and main course for £36. Fine dining at its best. Discrete, efficient waitresses For a mid week evening the restaurant was almost full which shouldn’t have surprised us. Compliments to the chef. The food was superb, beautifully presented and served at just the right pace. Thank you.

We had a birthday lunch for 19 people of very different ages here recently and it was faultless. We had a private dining room with access to a terrace and garden. Everyone had chosen their three course meal from the menu beforehand so the service was very smooth. There is an excellent wine list with a wide range of prices. The food is seasonal and often locally- sourced apart from the fish which is often Cornish as is the chef patron. Highly recommended.

Wow. A first class experience without the top class bill. Everything served was beautifully and perfectly cooked and made with Love. The Cheese Soufflé was perfect, the Beef Cheeks were cooked to perfection and the chocolate soufflé was cooked absolutely beautifully. Some very technical dishes. Bravo. 6 people ate and all 6 enjoyed everything. Service was great too. Very attentive and welcoming.

My husband and I came here while we were staying in the area for the weekend. What attracted us initially were the fantastic Google reviews, but we left quite disappointed, particularly since we were expecting a fine dining experience (as this is how the restaurant seems to market itself). The service was OK, but not overly attentive or friendly. For example, a pre-appetiser was plonked on the table with no explanation of what it was. In addition, we had to wait about 15-20mins to order desserts while waiters were around making up tables. The bread on the table was rather tasteless and like something you might pick up in a local supermarket. Ditto the accompanying butter (which was also too hard to spread). The food, while well cooked and nicely presented, lacked much (if any) seasoning, and was definitely not worthy of fine dining status. I ordered the fig and Parma ham starter, and I counted three very small figs on the plate, with some Parma ham and a little bit of salad garnish. It was very underwhelming.I had the duck main and my husband had the guinea fowl. My mashed potato contained no seasoning that I could taste (no salt, butter, etc), and there was very little sauce which made the whole dish dry. Overall it was not at all imaginative or particularly tasty; it was just *OK*. My husband said similarly about his guinea fowl. The desserts were nice (creme brulee and tarte tatin), as were the two cocktails we ordered, but nothing spectacular. The problem is, for a final bill of over £60pp, I would expect a lot better. Sadly I'm not sure I agree with the positive reviews and probably wouldn't return.

Wow!!! Came here with a group and they had provided a set menu for us. The food was absolutely superb, honestly I could not give you a negative comment about any of it. Pear Salad to start, duck for main and a chocolate dessert. Everyone in our group commented on how fantastic it was. Could not fault the service 10/10

Great food, great service, friendly staff, fixed-price 2 or 3 course menu with optional extras. The Dew Pond divided into a number of rooms, giving a feeling Visiting in late August as a party of 4 we sat outside enjoying the view with a drink while they prepared the starters, Parma ham and marinated figs for my wife and a crab, prawn and mashed avocado salad for myself. Beautifully presented and the main courses (duck confit and roast lamb) were cooked to melt-in-the mouth perfection. It's worth the trek down country lanes, dodging the tractors, to find and enjoy relaxed fine dining.
