Only popped in for a quick pint but this is a must visit place. Really lovely place, set out beautifully. Everything is clean and well kept. The play area outside is enclosed and looks great for kids, so perfect for families. Loads of free parking spaces. Staff are all very welcoming.

Had a lovely mother's day meal here today. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the food was the best meal I've had out in the last couple of years. Definitely recommend.

I recently had a disappointing experience at The Fox & Pelican for Sunday lunch. While I had booked a table specifically, upon arrival, I found the designated area overflowing with dogs.Although the staff kindly moved us to the "non-dog" section, the issue persisted as patrons continuously brought their dogs into the public bar, leading to a domino effect of barking throughout the establishment. The overall environment became quite chaotic and frankly, unhygienic for a pub serving food. While I understand some establishments are dog-friendly, the sheer number of dogs (at least 15-20 by my estimation) significantly impacted the dining experience. It goes against the basic hygiene standards expected in a restaurant, especially one that prides itself on its food.Unfortunately, I cannot recommend The Fox & Pelican in its current state, especially for those seeking a peaceful and hygienic dining experience.

Happened upon this place on my way from visiting family and the atmosphere was incredibly fantastic, my server Ellie was kind and helpful and welcoming as I’d never been in the area before.Food and the quality was absolutely exceptional and can’t fault it at all! Value to portion size was great!!Thank you F&P and Ellie for making my visit memorable, will certainly be returning when I get the chance to!!!

The lady supervising during my visit on Sunday was rude, uninterested and should not be allow front of house.

The winner….for the Worst Soup of the UK 2024. “Tomato” soup tasting notes: bland would be a complement, chemically aftertaste with the character of a ex-carpet in a council flat forgotten about for several years. Rush when the chef brings out his first cook book.

After a long day took my daughter for dinner 18:00 on a Tuesday. For me, Chicken pate to start, toast was cold, the main which was beer battered haddock had been fried to death. They did bring gravy for my daughters chips though so forgiven. However, ordering desert at the bar one uses normal manners “may I have the fish please” to which the reply was “that’s ok” I’m pretty sure it’s ok, no one asked how my dinner was or I would of told them what is mentioned here. Can’t say it was very busy. Not very impressed. Wish I’d taken a picture of the nuked fish.
