This is a great coffee shop and has been our regular place for a few years.

It was a cold november day and I foolishly thought pampering my wife and myself with a festive Black Forest + cream hot chocolate so went into this place and order it with plant based ‘oat’ milk. What I got its two paper cup. I asked about the cream suspecting its not there. Oh I was right no cream in it, after ask cream, the quite moody barista girl simple solution was drain out some hot chocolate from the cups and put some cream in it and closed the lid. Nice. No spoon, no napkins nothing. I had to ask two spoons as well. Even the hot chocolate was watery and doesn’t taste like the Black Forest, also doubted its oat milk based so I didn’t drink it, let the flies have it. £8.90 well spent, thank you Costa. My advice avoid this place.

I popped into Costa in Hythe today to grab a hot chocolate. When I went in, there were 2 other customers just receiving their takeaway drinks. No other customers seated that I could see. 1 staff member making drinks. Another staff member (who I assumed was the more senior) walking around. She walked up to the counter in front of me, didn't acknowledge me. Looked at the order for an uber collection that was due in 8 minutes. This sent her into a spiral. I spent about 3 or 4 minutes watching this spiral and listening to the venting. Two more customers joined the queue behind me. Still no acknowledgement from either staff member of the actual physical customers stood in their store. I gave up and walked out. The filthy look I received, through the window as I walked away, from the senior member of staff was the only acknowledgement of my visit that I received!

I was in this town watching the boats when suddenly I needed a coffee. I chose Costa as I know what to expect, a decent coffee at a decent price. This cafe has two entrances so it's important to know which one to use, the left hand side as you look at the shop. Tge coffee I drank was of a good quality however there was a lack of sophistication so I can only give 4 stars. This should not put people off, still very good indeed. Today I chose no cake as I wish to save money and reduce weight too, so i opt skimmed milk.

Disappointed to have used the Too Good To Go app 24hrs ago, prepaying for food at Costa Coffee Hythe, then driving, parking and walking here today, to find they decided to cancel my prepaid order an hour ago. So, no food available. Nothing else even offered as a gesture of goodwill.Added edit: To add insult to injury, I was pretty surprised to be standing outside Mamma Mia's half an hour later to see the same 2 staff members waltz past me with their own Costa bag of goodies. It looked like they did have my order available after all, but made an executive decision to keep it for themselves instead. Not a good look...

Staff were friendly and service was quick even though it was busy. It’s also dog friendly and there was a lovely Bernese dog in there today.

I'm not really into costa, I find it quite expensive.
I've never known such miserable welcome in a Costa. Not an ounce of welcome, a smile wouldn't have killed anyone.

Decent facilities and is extremely popular. Occupies two retail spaces, which isn't obvious from the outside, so normally there's enough room.Good quality coffee, and the staff members are very friendly and attentive.It gets busy so the tables are often in need of a clear when it gets busy.Pied a Terre area outside, especially for when the weather is more clement.
