What great breakfast (not).......please disregard my last review no idea what has happened to this place but they have obviously lost my business.Saturday treat as usual was a fried breakfast but today thought I would go to Chambers for a extra treat .Undercooked ( maybe not undercooked but looked pale insipid and yukk) sausages .Raw cherry tomatoes nice in a salad but not as they were supposed to be cookedToast that literally looked and felt like untoasted stale bread semi warm coffee .Ate the great poached eggs and bacon paid and left . Never again ? am truly disappointed

Great food and service. Well looked after by Katie and Jason and a mention for the chef John. Made better as being 10 minutes walk from front door to restaurant.

My girlfriend and I came here for a dinner night and thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. Bianca was our waiter and they did a fantastic job at making us feel welcome and relaxed. The food was fantastic, I had the pork belly to start and my girlfriend had the soup which was butternut squash and sweet potato. We both had the veggie wellington for the main, it was delicious. We will definitely be returning soon and would recommend the chambers to anyone visiting Portsmouth.

Amazing from the moment we walked through the door we didn’t book we see a post on Facebook they was excepting walkins and popped in we was a party of 5 people Jason and tayla the two staff that was looking after us was great they went above and beyond for us we ordered the trio roasts and they was happy enough to swap the chicken for lamb on them what was great the meats were perfectly cooked and the roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese just out of this world best Sunday roast thank you for a lovely experience

Best roast I’ve had in a long time. So much choice and the meat was cooked to perfection. The staff were very attentive. Will most definitely be back.

I'm leaving this review upon request of the waitress. I wouldn't usually be one to write reviews or complain, but on this occasion I just had to. I wouldn't recommend coming here for the following reasons: - It was nearly 2 hours from the time we were seated until our mains came to us. We were told it's because there's a larger party upstairs. I don't find this to be excusable given that our table was booked (so there should've been no surprises to the restaurant, or we should've been given strong warning that the restaurant having customers makes the service slow prior to booking), and the entirity of the front section of the restaurant where we sat was empty. This just made it feel like the larger parties had priority over our table as we just didn't see any food for a long time. During this very long wait period we were not offered anything to compensate for the very long wait other than a brief apology. - The food eventually arrived, I ordered steak, a simple dish which after 2 hours of waiting came well overcooked (I asked for medium rare, it wasn't even slightly pink through the steak and it was chewy). The waitress kindly took it back without any trouble. Unfortunately it then came out completely blue and undercooked. I probably could've dealt with this but after waiting 2 hours and paying £33 for a steak I would at least want it to be right, so they took it back again and corrected it. The other members of my group were disappointed with their vegetable wellington, which in fairness did look very small. The haddock fishcakes we had for starters were actually very nice though. - The bill came and I was sad to see that no adjustments were offered to make up for the long waits and obviously wrongly cooked steak, despite nothing being offered during the long wait to keep us going or make up for it. I understand that if a restaurant is very busy then the kitchen may be under pressure, but it shouldn't be an excuse for the mains to be disappointing after a long wait. On top of this, the service charge was included in the bill by default and non-negotiable. I was forced to pay a 10% tip to the restaurant for mains that had to be returned twice and a 2 hour wait. This is not the fault of the waitors or waitresses, but I just felt completely ripped off.

Visited on Sunday to have a Sunday roast, haven't been for a while and it was great. Had roast beef with a massive Yorkshire pudding and so much veg!! All cooked well and the portion size was huge. We were served by Katie, I thought she was the manager because of how professional she was, super friendly made time to chat to us for a while she made sure all her guests were well looked after. Thank you Katie ??

My night at the chambers was one to remember. Nothing could quite prepare us for now spectacular the chambers was going to be after my brief visits to the restaurant it has officially become me and my frends all time favorite from the minute we walked through the door we where enchanted by the warm and cozy atmosphere that was busseling from with in and not to mention the staff who where ever pressent through out the eavning and greated us with a warm inviting smile anytime we required there services one particular waitress Katie was particularly outstanding she was frendly professional useful and every thing you could have hoped for from a waitress. All these amazing attributes that the chambers has should be more then enough of a reason for you to to stop by and I myself will be sure to come again
