Ten quid for a roast Monday to Friday, help yourself to veg and pile on but chef carves the ever so thin slices of meat, I opted for beef and turkey. Plus points, hot food nicely cooked although beef edging a little on the red side, if you fave gluttony and like veg not a problem. Down side, lack of meat, no chicken, only pork, gammon, said turkey and beef.To wash down the food, I ordered Tribute ale...came back from the survery and there on my table something akin to a brown milk shake, cloudy as a grey day in Southsea, not a sparkling crystal clear pint, and a hint of vinegar too, nice. How staff can serve this up at 4 and a half quid beggars belief. A quick word got it changed to a safer option of Guiness. But shouldn't have been served in the first place. Serve ale if you can keep it.After lunch, went to relax in the barn...I watched customers wait at the bar for longer than should be expected for drinks, tut tut, it wasn't busy at all, there was more activity on the Mary Celeste I'm sure. I too had to wait and wait....for a second Guinness. The young waitress Lana very apologetic and friendly.Oh and the piped muzak to accompany my after lunch time pint.....blimin dreadful and you can't get away from it. Worst warbling since Cilla Black did her thang years ago, this time plaintif male Millenials screeching how they love someone over and over... Overall....6 out of 10. I wouldn't go back tbh rather head to somewhere else.

Massive queue. Filthy food counter, clearly overworked and underpaid staff. Our 18month old also witnessed his first bar fight. Go Toby!

Food is great, staff are brilliant and the price is good, but as its always busy it seems to me like you are rushed to leave and tables are very close

Unimpressed with our server. Took our drinks order, brought them back and disappeared. Therefore we couldn't order off the menu so had to go up for carvery. When it came to pay he was very rude and unhelpful. My friend wanted to get rewards on her app he said she should have said before he printed the bill. (We later found out from another member of staff that it was before we paid and she had asked before anyone paid). One of our party couldn't see the machine so asked to see the amount on the screen before she tapped her card so he slammed the card machine down and tutted.I had said I wasn't happy that my friend couldn't get her rewards so when it was my turn to pay my receipt was thrown at me.I normally insist on a 10% tip but refused to leave a tip.
We went for mother's day and it ran very smoothly even though the restaurant was full. The service was excellent, with nothing being too much trouble. The food itself was good quality meats, a huge Yorkshire pudding and a good variety of vegetables, although the cauliflower cheese was a little Al dente. The serving spoons were incredibly hot too.I'd go back there, and maybe try something from their actual menu!Good experiences all round.

Lady on front desk not at all hospitable! Meal OK and our waitress was nice.

Use the Toby as my 'local'. So it could be a couple of times a week. However the seating availability seems to be altered on a daily basis? Some areas of the public bar seem to be closed off? So you may struggle to find somewhere to sit. You can sometimes have to sit in the restaurant area. It seems to happen on most occasions when we go there now. Another issue that happens is the beer barrels need changing. This happened again last night. They advised me that the pipes would have to be cleaned out. So I had to settle for a drink I didn't really want. Feel that Toby should be aware of the fact that barrels do run out. It's a regular thing in this Toby restaurant.

Food was really good, nice glass of wine and a very reasonable price. Waitress also very smiley and helpful. To be closed soon for revamp which it needs but overall a very pleasant lunch.

We walked out because it was absolutely disgusting. The tables were all pushed together and I could touch the people on the shoulder next to me each side. It was absolutely horrible We hadn’t even sat down and the woman said what you want for a drink so we said and then we went up to get the dinner when we were there they didn’t have half the meats ready and all the vegetables were all sloppy all over the place, it looked absolutely disgusting so me and my sister just walked out. It was absolutely horrible. Won’t be going there again one in Camberley is so much nicer
