Visited as a group of 6 friends.Having visited in 2023 and sat in the garden to eat, we thought we’d return.The pub has a lovely atmosphere and the team were great, friendly and attentive . The menu had a good, varied selection, topped off by a specials board. The food was excellent, nicely presented and very tasty. You’ll definitely see us again. ??

The specials are delicious and worth the prices which are slightly higher than you would expect in a village pub.Lovely open fires and great atmosphere and service from charming staff.Strongly recommended.

Another lovely evening spent here with friends. Would thoroughly recommend The George. The staff are friendly, attentive and welcoming, Luke was our waiter and he was very good at his job. The food was delicious and home made, the pies and the gravy are the best ever. Well done chef!. We will be back soon.

Such a lovely warm and friendly pub. Not usually a fan of pies but the chicken pie I had was the best ever served with perfectly cooked mash and greens and proper gravy! Lovely staff and very dog friendly with a dog menu. Definitely going back when next in area.

Myself and my partner stumbled across this pub after our Saturday morning walk. We were warmly greeted by the manager and from start to finish I cannot fault the service we received. The staff were all so friendly, attentive and couldn’t do enough for you. The pub itself is lovely and quaint, exactly what you’d expect from a lovely little country pub. The pub garden looks lovely and I can imagine is amazing in the summer. As for the food, we found this to be extremely competitively priced and absolutely DELICIOUS. Overall, a lovely pub with great food in an idyllic setting. We will be returning

We went the George at Finchdean today for lunch, the food was amazing, the service we received was excellent from Sam, Harry and Emma they were very welcoming and made our visit really nice, we will definitely return.

What a fabulous pub. My husband and I had not been in for a long time and decided on a dog walk and lunch Xmas eve with our little dog. Staff were so friendly and helpful and our little dog was made to feel welcome. We enjoyed it so much that we took parents back a few days later for lunch. I think it’s going to become one of regulars. Thankyou to you all from Dianne, Darren and Pippa the westie :-)
