Frankly appalling, 45 minutes for a order to be taken, after a considerable wait a very mediocre meal was served, all in all 3 hours for what was essentially a bar snack in a not busy pub is hopeless Hall & Woodhouse should apply for planning and put houses on it

We arrived to a table that had not been cleaned of food debris from the previous diner(s). THe waiter did clean the table but promptly wiped all the debris on the table onto my lap (no apologies). The food was "ok" if on the higher price side for a pub. At the end of the meal the waiter added an automatic service charge to the bill and added the combined amount to the electonic reader (without advising me) which I thought was not only extremely cheeky but annoying as diners are not legally obliged to pay a tip (service charge). I decided to not make an issue of it as my family had already decided we were unlikely to return.

We visited the Queens College Arms for dinner on Christmas day with our family of 11 and received a warm welcome from the friendly staff. The food was excellent and plentiful with great service, especially from Georgie throughout our visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and will certainly return in the new year.

We used the on line booking to book the Xmas menu for 4 people. No time, did it ask you for your menu choice, or to ring and select, when we arrived at the pub we were showing to our table we informed the waitress that we had booked a Christmas dinner, and she come back and said that we hadn’t booked a Xmas menu and just walked off.The waitress, Service and food were poor a very Disappointing evening.

We have been here a few times. The pub has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Food has always been good. Sam, our server, was jolly and helpful but with several other large groups filling the dining room, there were insufficient staff to provide first rate service. Two of our number ordered flat iron steaks from the standard Christmas menu but about five minutes later, Sam came back to advise "No steaks!" Seriously!! at 12.45pm on a Thursday - who on earth was in charge of supplies ordering? The Queens College Arms went down in our estimation. A pity!

We visited as group of 6 friends expecting the place to be buzzing so bear to Christmas , it wasn’t there were a few other guests eating but not many . The drinks in my opinion are overpriced. The food was ok tasted alright but portion sizes not great and very little veg. Would recommend going here in the summer to have a drink and sit in the garden but in winter it seemed soulless. The staff were friendly and efficient .

Don’t go here if you have allergies or any intolerances. We waited nearly 2 hours for food and had to jump through many loops to be served as one of the party has a dairy allergy and one was gluten intolerant. We were told the wait was due to our allergies. This could have been handled in many different ways.Poor waitress was run off her feet and the other lady’s demeanour was less than desirable for someone who works in the service industry. Not sure if this a Hall & Woodhouse problem or a venue problem but either way - do not recommend

Had the 3 course Christmas meal here Friday evening. The turkey roast was really good, roasties were really crispy and fluffy and the no nut roast was moist and tasty. Really good service from the waitresses too, so thank you ?

Beautiful pub, lovely staff, we were served by Georgiana who was super friendly. A lovely evening, delicious veggie roast and turkey roasts and a lovely chickpea and sweet potato curry. Great veggie options and drinks choices. Defo will be back.

Had a Sunday roast with family! Was one of the best in the area we’ve had. Roast beef and pork cooked perfectly and the roasties were amazing! Welcoming staff and friendly.Dietary restrictions: On a restricted diet following surgery and was able to have reduced amounts and cut out certain foods. Very accommodating.

Had the most amazing roast here last weekend! The chicken was delicious, crispy potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, cabbage, and pigs in blankets. Yum!Staff were amazing too. Everyone said hello to us as we walked in. We felt very welcome. We go here all the time for lunch or dinner and always have good food and a nice atmosphere.

I want to make it clear that the waitress who served us was wonderful. But beyond that, a huge letdown. On sitting down and seeing the prices, you would imagine that the food is of a high level of quality. This couldn’t be more misleading. The food took ages to come. We had a sharing Camembert to start and it came with toasted bread that was basically just sliced Hovis. As for the mains. My mac and cheese was hardly a main. I honestly wish I’d just got myself a Charlie Binghams from Sainsbury’s. It was a tiny portion, flavourless and overall just totally underwhelming. Luckily I got some chicken goujon things from the starter menu to go with my main, which made it more of a meal. But these were also so unenjoyable that I didn’t bother to finish my meal.Fortunately it was 33% off for a Monday so we saved some money, yet these should be the prices as standard if anything because for the quality and portions the prices are an absolute ripoff. We forwent the dessert to grab it from Sainsbury’s.
