We visit the Fairground Café most Saturdays and have always found the staff to be attentive and friendly. The food is great and service excellent. We found this gem of a place when prices everywhere else became ridiculous, but here they are very competitive compared to many other similar establishments. Big fans, we have abandoned everywhere else!

Every month or so I think "Oh let's pop by the Fairground Cafe, that'll be nice" but it isn't. Every visit is weird somehow. I guess with no competition around there's no need to bother thinking about customer experience. For example, why do they have the most uncomfortable chairs in the world? The older ladies stopping by are always all sat on their coats and hats. Why is the coffee always so burned? At least I remembered to get a tea instead this time. I didn't get to drink it though, came back from the loo to find it was gone. If there was another option for coffee here then this place would die in weeks. Oh, no vegan options here, like it's still last century. Even the salads all have flesh. Strange.Looks like a couple hours after I wrote this they tried to bury it with a stack of clearly bogus 5* reviews, which says a lot.
