Not a good experience, ordered dinner at 7pm. Waited 50 minutes to be served with a non descript mush with no pasta and some burnt bread at the edges. When I challenged the waiter he said I didn’t know you wanted pasta with it!!Luckily I have some fruit in the car to get me through until morning. No one was really interested int terms of customer crevice. Will skip breakfast as I need to be at work by 8am and don’t want to be late. (McDonald’s will be a safe bet)Certainly will not stay again and will be speaking to our business booking company about the standards there.Rooms: Room is basic, cannot watch tv as the sound is very distorted, I can only assume that the quality of product is inferior. Glad I brought a book with me !

Used the hotel to visit family, hotel is clean and friendly with a nice bar. It is an old building which has been adapted and turned into an hotel, so it has a certain character. Not a lot of of standard rooms off a corridor.

Such a great experience. Very unexpected as it was sudden plan. Greeted by a lovely Italian gentleman who is brilliant with his service at desk & in the restaurant. The host was very kind and came to greet us while dining. The rooms are very tidy & ample of parking. Would definitely hope to go again!

Christmas Day CarvaryMy family and I went out this year for our Christmas dinner it was the first time we have ever done this, being my daughter and I are fussy we decided a Carvary option would suit us best. And this definitely did there were plenty of starters we could all eat, the Christmas dinner was lovely the meat options were all delicious and plenty of it, my husband and I liked the mixed vegetables option but my daughter didn’t, I think because it was all mixed up together, but she made up for that and had more pigs in blankets. Then there was a good selection of puddings, followed by hot drinks even hot chocolate which my daughter had, it did say on the menu a mini mince pie but they didn’t have any out just mini shortbread cookies, but we were all full anyway. But for our first Christmas lunch there we were all more than happy and would definitely recommend it to family and friends. If I wanted to say anything negative it would just be the Christmas decorations around the venue were a bit lacking and dated, my daughter did say she felt a little like being in an old people’s home (ops)

Rooms was freezing cold, water pressure was awful to the point couldn’t have a shower or a bath would take hours to run, tap wouldn’t turn off therefore kept me awake all night and the place is just all around creepy.

Hired the hall for a 40th birthday party. Good location. We ate in the restaurant where the food was excellent and danced the night away in the function room. Thank you for helping make the night special.

I stayed for 2 nights and it was selected because of the location we needed to be in. Stayed for 2 nights and despite the tiredness of the hotel decor it could be considered more rustic. It is a 3 star and quite old fashioned. However, Dinner in the restaurant was fantastic. Homemade cuisine which tasted fantastic and the service was excellent. Breakfast was excellent. All the buffet food was fresh and hot. Makes you wonder why 5 star hotel buffets get it so wrong as they are always cold. This hotel clearly has a chef and staff who care about their work and it shows. The manager is super friendly and gets involved in helping the staff all over. A true leader. If you can forgive the facilities being a little old and rustic, then you will not be disappointed.Ps. The beds are enormous and comfy. Plenty of floor space for your suitcases too. Thanks

A beautiful find. With a lovely Italian restaurant. Favourite part is the dining experience in the igloo dome area with fairy lights. The staff is very professional and attentive to everyone. Definitely will book again.

Quite disappointing for several reasons:- no bag drop option for arriving earlier than checkin. Told we could bags in the corridor at our own risk.- the building smells of damp. This could be due to the single glazing which is apparent on most windows.- we were first given room 6 which had no heading available from the radiator and smelt incredibly damp. Poor, considering we paid for a deluxe double.- spoke to front desk and we're given room 11 which was much better.- sound- walls were incredibly thin and we were woken first by children running around and couples speaking in rooms, and then later on in the morning, by a couple apparently consumating their nuptials.Really couldn't recommend the place, needs some serious work to bring it up to a reasonable standard.

I really loved the rooms and how super clean they were. ?Although I dreaded climbing those stairs to my room.Overall, my brief stay was enjoyable.

We were attending a wedding at Rivervale and this hotel offered a very good price and was very close by. The room was fine once we found it and the bed was very comfortable. Don't expect any views though! The buffet breakfast was very good including a full cooked breakfast. There was good parking too. My only comment was about the check in. We did not want to pay extra for early check in but we did think we could leave our bags in the hotel and they were unable to do that. It meant checking in at midnight after the wedding with our bags which we stored in a friends car. I am sure that a place to store bags would be possible and I was slightly anxious about what to do if we got back at midnight and no room was available. In other hotels we have checked in but not been given a key which guarantees peace of mind. Other than that we were happy with our stay.
