I visited the Walywn Arms a few weeks ago with my family for a evening meal. I asked the woman on bar for a table and she very rudely asked if I had a table booked and told me that she was to busy to sort me out and sent me over to the waiting staff. This was very unacceptable as the restaurant wasn’t busy and we were only a table of 4. The young girls waiting were very polite and made my visit exceptional.

Not a bad place for lunch. Absolutely massive portions. I had the turkey and bacon club which was great but I couldn't finish it. Only issue is you might have to wait, but it's worth it for the quality of the food. I waited 30 mins for a

Went here for Christmas and wow a really beautiful pub with a friendly owner and super attentive staff and excellent homemade food that totally blows most carverys out off the water .Being a professionally trained chef I am hard to please and very rarely leave without criticism but the chef was a great guy very professional and friendly and cooked us up a storm of vibrant fresh steaming hot food that had me super impressed .The vegetables were perfectly cooked and the Yorkshire pudding, surfing and meats were A1 .The beef and turkey was executed to perfection and even extra gravy was delivered by the chef to your table .If you want a wholesome meal with a beautiful setting and a well stocked bar then visit the walwyn Arms. I would book to avoid dissapointment as it gets busy for the right reasons .5 star review well earned .

First Christmas meal here and by far the best. Very warm welcome, happy staff, no waiting for attention. The Chef was attentive and food was of a high standard and plentiful. The tables were well placed giving an airy feel with easy access. I love this place and can see me and my family returning in the near future. So lucky to have the Walwyn Arms nearby. Thank you for making our Christmas day special.

Was so looking forward to eating here as I’ve had fabulous meals before, alas not on this occasion,it was a Christmas dinner, no turkey was available nor roast beef, so we had chicken, dry, tasteless and two strands of broccoli with no other vegetables on offer, greasy roast potatoes and a inedible pig in blanket with rock hard stuffing balls, very very disappointed. The sweet and starter were good though, service was excellent as usual. If the menu is the same next Xmas we all will be going elsewhere shame

I attended a private event here today and must report it was marvellous from start to finish. Lovely food, great staff and a relaxed atmosphere.

A party of 12 of us went for our annual Christmas lunch and I for one was very disappointed and I wasn’t alone in feeling this. There was no Christmas atmosphere, no Christmas crackers and the food was very disappointing. The starter of prawn cocktail was very nice, but the main course was served with just one vegetable. The stuffing ball was very small and burnt as was the pig in blanket. There was a dollop of something on the chicken portion ~ I had to ask what it was as it looked like either tomato ketchup or barbecue sauce ~ apparently it was plum butter. These 2 courses plus a tea at the end of the meal cost £27.00. We meet annually for a Christmas lunch and I can say with confidence that I won’t be attending the meal next year if it is at this venue.

Hi,Not sure what happened last friday lunchtime at least disappointed.Have you changed your chef? Starter ordered liver pate (only starter I was remotely interested in O K Ordered cider battered cod and chips, very disappointing. Not your usual crisp enjoyable batter but served a Greasy Joe fish and chips hope this is just a one off my wife and I have been customers of the Walwyn Arms for more years than I would wish to remember. Will give you another try soon when hopefully food will be up to your usual high standard. Also what have you done to your menu! No longer available Brie as a starter and specials main course steak with salad and chips. You are probably thinking why did you not let us know at the time.I am a very reasonable person and appreciate things can sometimes go wrong. But I feel it may be helpful for you to have my input. Regards Brian

Dog friendly with plenty of parking. Staff very welcoming and attentive. Food was excellent with reasonable prices. The dog was even brought a few treats. Would definitely recommend.

A warm welcome for ourselves and our 3 West Highland White Terriers from the staff at this lovely pub last Thursday. We were offered a choice of tables at which to sit and were promptly served. I had the Cider Battered Fish and Chips and my husband the Steak and Ale pie. Our trio of pups were also given dog biscuits by the staff so we all left very well fed! Thank you to all The Walwyn Arms for an enjoyable lunch.Parking: At least two blue badge spaces directly outside entrance.
