It was our first time at Baan Thitiya yesterday for a date lunch and we were not disappointed. We received a lovely friendly welcome, we sat outside in the beer garden to begin with and had a drink. It’s a nice old building and has a relaxing warm feeling inside the restaurant. The food was amazing, so tasty! The service was excellent, we will definitely be going back there and we recommend this place to all! Thank you ?

So glad we found Baan Thitiya, food was generous and so good. Big fan of Choo Chee Goong and it was so tasty here. Definitely recommend if you happen to be staying nearby for the airport!

What a fab Friday night with friends. Food and service was very good. I chose something very different, crispy fish with sweet and sour vegetables. It made for a delicious change from curry. There is always a very good buzz to the place but be warned it's early birds. We went at 7pm and it was packed, fairly sparse by 9pm. The outside tables are now open.

I have been here before but for my husband it was the first time. We had the set dinner for two. The black pepper lamb was delicious! A little spicy from the pepper with tender lamb. The duck in Tamrind sauce was sweet and succulent. The green Thai curry is always good as is the Jasmine rice. We opted to have dessert and weren't disappointed! The desserts were the perfect way to end the meal. Will be back again soon xx

There are two Thai restaurants in Bishop’s Stortford this one and Giggling Squid that I know of,Giggling Squid is full of teenagers that don't want to be there and loathe serving you, small portions, minimal effort, stupid prices. The food in Giggling Squid in comparison to here are world's apart, Giggling squids food isn't fresh, isn't prepared by authentic chefs and is more or less out of the packet meals (tastes like it)Anyone who tells you Giggling Squid is better than this place claps when the plane lands without doubt. If you want an intimate and authentic experience with beautiful fresh food, decent portions and in my opinion good value for money then eat here.If you want to be a sheep and go the the food chain and endure small portions, moaning teenagers that have the personality of a dead otter then go nuts.. be disappointed and don't expect a sloppy toppy for the Mrs, just you in the loo tonight mate!Sorry not sorry

Absolutely delicious, and nice old pub.

Bhaan Thitiya is the best Thai I've been to. My family travel down from near Cambridge to eat here. The Massaman curry is superb. Definitely worth a visit! Book on Saturdays since it gets busy.

Forget giggling squid, we were blown away with this place, the food was fantastic and fresh, the staff were extremely friendly and inviting and was greeted with a smile, we do wish they left more of a time gap between starters and mains but non the less everything was beautiful

We booked a table for seven people to celebrate our son's birthday. The food was amazing and the service excellent. I had mentioned to the restaurant that it was my son's 18th birthday and at the end of our meal, the staff came out singing Happy Birthday and presented him with a cake which was a lovely touch . Look forward to our next visit

After recently moving back to the UK after many years, it really difficult to find a restaurant that provides both good food and great service. Baan Thitiya has a phenomenal staff that provides true customer service and amazing authentic Thai food. They also have an amazing bartender who makes a wide array of specialty cocktails. I highly recommended the Lychee Martini! I always look forward to coming back!

We've been here a number of times before, and travelled far to get here, but our most recent visit will be our last. Reasons below (I must add that the staff came to us as we were leaving and asked us not to write a review in exchange for money, which we declined)- we ordered a minced chicken with basil dish. But chicken stir fry with rice came.- I told our waitress, and she tried to convince me that this is what minced chicken is in Thai. I showed her the picture in the menu against what I ordered and confirmed that it's different. She took what I was served away- I was then served another chicken stir fry dish with slightly smaller chicken pieces. I told the staff about this and said that I was unhappy but by this point my family had almost finished their meals and my baby was due to finish her nap ready for us to leave. So there would be no point ordering another meal which is what they offered- I tried to just eat as much as I could of what I had been given but it was unfortunately not great tasting, it was pieces of chicken and green beans in soy sauce. Even though I was incredibly hungry I just couldn't bring myself to eat it all. Thankfully my husband swapped the little he had left with me.- The bill came, and I mentioned to them that I'd expect to not be charged for the meal I was given that I didn't order and didn't like. To which I was told I should be happy that I wasn't also charged for the dish I was initially given. I was very surprised by this response.- nevertheless we paid but took off the service that they'd added to our bill (the first time I've done this in my 37years, we normally always do 20%)Taking the service of triggered a strange train of events where they followed us to the door trying to give us money in exchange for a promise that we don't write a review! We declined of course.Other things to note.- they've reduced items on the plate from the set menu. They used to have a little salad that came with the platter, which is now not included and the portions are MUCH smaller- we've been visiting regularly over the last year and have noticed that in the last couple of visits we are the only table for a 1.5hr lunch time visit on a Saturday! Evidently others are having similar experiences...Or.. they've found alternatives like us, I've heard there's a giggling squid close by.. much better quality authentic Thai food!Sorry to have to take one off of our list but it's not easy spending hard earned money somewhere where they clearly don't value our custom

Excellent food but a curious staff attitude. Reserved a table on “Open Table” and arrived to a cold lifeless reception. The restaurant was not full but we were shown to an awkward table between the main traffic flow and a table of six guys in dirty work attire, thanks but no thanks we will have that nice romantic big table over there… much better! Do staff not think what does the customer want? Who wants to sit there? Good food well presented and tasty. Decent wine list. All hand sanitisers were empty and dirty. The toilets need a damn good cleaning. The whole place needs a revamp, poor lighting, no background music and it feels like a school dining room with pictures. We would return but only if no where else was available, previous reviews are much too generous in their comments and lack any critical review. We rated it 5/10, could do much better and be much happier.
