We visit Coffee House fairly regularly - perhaps once weekly. The place changed hands and became Coffee House at the start of 2020, just before the pandemic hit, but it was an instant hit for us, serving a really nice range of food with some great veggie (and separate) vegan options. Their coffee is just right (not too bitter / not too plain) and even the cake selection caters perfectly for awkward eaters like veggies, vegans and gluten free types (I’m veggie, so I can call myself an awkward eater). The place has small but comfortable outside seating at the front so you can watch the world go by, and is also dog friendly inside which is a really nice touch compared to most of the other local cafe’s. Staff are always welcome and friendly, and they have enough staff to cover all of their tables comfortably, which is a rarity these days. Recommendations are the veggie breakfast, their toasted wraps and (as a veggie) their vegan chocolate cake, which is just divine…

Lovely place and menu but unfortunately the service leaves a lot to be desired. Visited with my 8 month old baby and politely asked where our food was after 45 mins of waiting (none of the staff had noticed us sitting there with no food). A lady came from the kitchen (I assume the manager) and apologised and said she’d never received the ticket, and offered us a round of drinks on the house. However while I’d been waiting I’d already had a coffee and a smoothie and a water so I declined! When our food eventually came it was nice but we had to scoff it down to get home. None of the other staff acknowledged the delay and I then had to queue for 10 minutes to pay (with a very inpatient baby by this point!). The lady at the till was rude and uninterested when I expressed my disappointment, and I wasn’t offered any kind of apology (or discount on the drinks that we had before being offered some). Not the relaxing Saturday morning brunch I’d hoped for!

We have visited Coffee House previously for drinks and cake with no complaints. Unfortunately today neither the service nor the acknowledgement of their shortcomings was up to the expected standard. My son's meal (full english breakfast) was forgotten about, and then when this was pointed out and it eventually arrived - they served it with scrambled eggs rather than fried eggs (that he had ordered). Other lunch items were served as ordered and the food tasted good. The duty manager offered a paltry 10% discount from my son's meal for the delay and the error in his meal. Whist I appreciate that mistakes happen - I really expect the management to take more responsibility and better demonstration of customer care!

Delicious food and friendly staff - a wide range of options on the menu for food and drinks and dogs allowed which is a bonus.

No Thanks

Have had decent quality food in here before. Last visit though, I ordered an English breakfast and was served those cheap, low-grade, petrol station sausages. Tasted like some kind of nasty pork sandwich paste in a sausage skin. They are over-charging if that's the quality of ingredients they're using.Rest was ok. Coffee was fine. Biodegradable takeaway containers. Quick service. Can't forgive being served pet-grade meat though. Pork is a relatively cheap meat already.

Had an amazing fresh juice, coffee was beaut and food to take away - bacon sandwich was lovely, nice bread but salt beef bagel could have had more beef. Will definitely be returning

I have visited here a couple of times for drinks and food. Drinks are great, especially their Espresso, Banana & Protein smoothie ('Wake me up', I think it's called). The food is also great - I've had their harissa chicken salad before which was delicious, as well as their English Fry up and Salmon Poke bowl. Am certainly looking forward to returning to them in 2021!

I come and get a salad once a week here and normally they’re great, but today I bit into a stone that was in my salad! I moved the salad around and there were large pieces of soil in my food - so disgusting! I took it back and they apologised and refunded it but it’s safe to say I won’t be getting food from there ever again!

Visited with a friend. The cafe was very busy. The menu is based around bread based food or salad. Not imaginative. Extremely concerning that one waitress kept removing her mask on and off whilst making drinks and taking payment contrary to government guidelines.

Popped in for a takeaway coffee and slice of cake yesterday and was served quickly which was nice. After being served, I was left standing and watching a hive of activity by the members of staff. but I couldn't help but notice that all they were doing was taking orders from fellow walk-ins and people who were eating in. There were stacks of written orders but no drinks or food were being made/ brought out. I was left waiting for 12 minutes for a takeaway white coffee and a slice of cake which is grossly disappointing. Won't be returning.

Always on the look out for child friendly cafes, to attempt to finish a coffee. Coffee Corner has a corner of toys/bricks/books etc which is a great distraction for a toddler; it also has sofa seating for a more comfortable and casual setting. They have a large menu, with all day breakfast, decent sized servings and lots of drink options, milkshakes etc. Would definitely go back and recommend, especially if you have little ones.
