Paid £50 for New Years Eve tickets which was advertised as being in the main large entertainment area however they failed to sell many tickets and moved it to a tiny claustrophobic area upstairs with not many guests. We walked in and walked straight out as it was not what we were expecting at all, they are now refusing to issue a refund, avoid!

Our first visit here and we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were all so friendly and attentive which was a great start for us.The food was great, I had the jacket potato and my partner had a breakfast. The breakfast was slightly on the small side but my jacket potato was lovely and a decent portion so all in all we would say good value for money. We loved the vibe of this place and wish we’d have been sooner as we’ve lived in this area for 7 years and never been.Great job guys thank you for the hospitality.

I never give bad reviews but the service was rubbish, I waited 30 minutes for a coffee and just under an hour for food although six members of staff only one young lad was welcoming and warm- disappointed.

Unfortunately home and eat is not as good as it was.1. Waited 45 min for food while the restaurant was nearly empty.2. Got the order wrong.3. First breakfast turned up cold.4. Second breakfast was luke warm. It's a disappointing situation where the number of in the morning seems below what is required to run this place, the staff are friendly but it seems they have not worked in the industry for long and the lack of experience shows despite thier efforts.

Food is good and the staff is super friendly and super helpful. But it was freezing. I know that energy is really expensive, but me and my family couldn't even take our jackets of.

Sadly would recommend avoiding visiting this place. Service is terrible. We waited ages for menus and then for our order to be taken. When our drinks eventually arrived the food we ordered was no where to be seen. Asked about options for dietary restrictions and they said they'd find out. They never came back and the food never arrived. Despite it not being busy, the couple next to us had a similar experience where they were left waiting for a pot of tea for more than half an hour. We were there for around 45 minutes and our only reward was two small over-priced drinks.Vegetarian options: Limited vegetarian options. No vegan options.Dietary restrictions: Asked about options for dietary restrictions and they didn't know. They said they'd find out but never came back.

Having had poor service on a few occasions (wrong orders and just generally slow) this wouldn't be my first choice for breakfast, but we visited on Saturday as we were seeing Santa there. The santa experience was actually quite good for a budget option. The cafe however is unbelievably poor. It's a cold room, even though we were sat by the log burner. We ordered food and drinks, which did not arrive. I chased twice for coffees. Then there was an issue with food, which we still hadn't received an hour after being seated. I had to chase twice for this. Also had to ask twice for crayons for my daughter's menu which I was told would come, they didn't. The staff just aren't on the ball at all. Surely if they see a table that's been there a while with no food they'd think to check in the kitchen, but no. 2 other tables seemed to have issues either with things missing from orders or taking ages to come. We got a 20% discount due to the delay, but by that point the whole experience was ruined. Won't be back. Suggest the waiting team get some decent training. The cafe wasn't busy enough to justify this poor service.

We liked the decor, the staff were very pleasant, the coffees perfectly ok but we really made a mistake ordering the scones! They were dense, dry, rock hard and, to us, appeared anything but fresh. One of the staff zapped mine in the microwave when I asked her if that was possible after telling her it was hard and dry. This did make it more edible but it was still not right. We were very disappointed. No one came to ask if my friend's scone was the same, or to ask if we would prefer to change our order to something else. No one apologized for the poor scones. I doubt we will go back. The cooked breakfasts looked good, but we still aren't sure we'd risk it.

I met up here today for lunch with an old friend from Colchester, having met with her here once before. As it’s “dog friendly” I took my little Lakeland terrier x Kerry Blue terrier with me for some socialisation (since I live “out in the sticks” and she seldom sees “town life”). We had a great time - dog was well behaved and food was good as was service. Icing on the cake was when my little pooch was presented with a sausage on a plate - it went down a treat!! Definitely five stars!Parking: The amount of cars shows how popular it is!

Quirky place to eat and shop. The roast beef lunch was excellent, the waiter was helpful and funny. Interesting array of things for sale, eg Jacuzzis, mirrors, nick nacks etc etc. Great value for money. Would definitely recommend it for groups, families plus.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon for Brunch with our medium sized dog. The staff were very friendly and also provided my dog with his own puppucino! We really enjoyed the double breakfast as well - we thought the food was perfectly cooked, well priced with great ingredients. Eccentric decor added to the fun atmosphere.
