Awful! Rice was not fresh and all stuck together in a block, couldn’t eat it. “Free delivery” but driver asked for £2 on arrival ! Avoid at all costs. Phoned the shop to tell them about the rice and told because my order was only £18 nothing they will do! Rude

Probably the worse Indian in Bishop's Stortford. Greasy sauce and chicken that isn't cooked. Their pathetic madras will only give you food poisoning. Don't bother ordering from this restaurant and save your money.

Usually order from rubys but my cards not working isn’t many places around that still accept cash on delivery so it’s was nice to have the option . Food was great and on time so would certainly use again would like a little bit more heat in my balti though and could do without the peppers in it not sure if it’s own recipie to the restaurant or a common thing but tasted abit sweet for me after a while but certainly yummy !!

I ordered meal by using bespoke android app Tandori Cottage Stortford.I ordered 3 items. chicken tikka masala, mushroom rice and South Indian garlic chilly chicken . This totaled £19.80 and was due to arrive at 19:49hrs. At 20:15hrs I called the restaurant to check on my order but was told that the restaurant has never received the order from the app. I explained that the transaction went through , the man told me I need to contact YoYo to resolve it. I reordered the same items over the phone adding 2 poppadoms. Man told me this will be 21 pounds something. When he arrived he asked for 24 pounds something. When I asked why was it 24 pounds he told me it was due to cost of delivery and the rise in prices. I showed him that I was already charged £19.80 from my online bank and that I have £2 cash for him for extra poppadoms. HE WAS NOT HAPPY telling me that he did not receive the money or order and that I have to contact HIS payment service to resolve it. Poor fella would not accept the fact that its his problem thst his IT service fails and he was still asking for full payment only so later I can sit on hold somewhere enquiring about my £19.80 missing .... and he had a cheek to add few extra pounds to the order .Effectively, poor logistics with regards to method of payment, slow delivery , theft by means of overcharging customers- few quid here , I saw another post with an extra 8 quid there...But the food was really good so , you lot make your own opinion how you approach. ?

The worse customer experience ever! We ordered food for home after over 1.5 hours I tried to give them a call and when I asked when the food will arrive and they just hung up on me. I tried calling again, another person picked up the phone and the same happened! I still can't believe how rude the stuff at this place are. Avoid!

Ordered via there web site for delivery order never arrived staff claimed our food was 10 minutes away several times when we called.Our food never arrived do not use this takeaway!

Popped into Tandoori cottage for a curry with my wife and wished he had gone elsewhere. Two waiters appeared to be on service duty but spent most of their time hiding in the kitchen rather than tending to customers. Proved difficult gaining their attention to place food and drinks orders - and when we eventually ordered our main meals, we had to wait over an hour and a half for these to arrive. I ordered the murgi ragasthani from the specials section which was described as a medium hot breast of chicken off the bone garnished with oriental herbs, ginger, garlic and chillies. It actually had very little heat (spice) and the only garnish I could taste was the salt that completely overpowered everything else. There was no apology or acceptance of the poor service when we asked for the bill - and even that was a saga as the waiter took multiple attempts to take the card payment. As we left there was a table of 8 people next to us who were complaining about not receiving their meals despite having placed their orders over 90 mins earlier. Hard to see us returning to TC in light of tonight’s experience.

We came here after work for an impromptu night out and we were amazed by the food! Even though it’s a small restaurant in the countryside it delivers food better than any Indian in the city I usually go to! The food was cooked excellently. However, the older gentleman was quite rude and abrupt and lacked in customer service. The price of everything was extremely reasonable and we left feeling full, happy and wanting to return! The chicken madras and lamb bhuna were probably the best I’ve had and the sag alloo was full of flavour! Look forward to coming here again in the new year! Thank you, George

Tried to scam the receipt added extra £8 by charging for items we didn’t have and also adding up to £1 to each menu item thinking we wouldn’t notice! When we did , they said oh our card machine doesn’t work…shouldn’t they have told us when we walked in? What if we didn’t have any other means to get cash? Might have just had credit card.It’s a shame. As the food was actually good!

Grumpy/ rude waiter ( must be the same elderly gentleman in previous reviews) food good, but marked down due to appalling waiter. Place needs a refurb too.

Been using this restaurant for well over 10 years for eat-in and takeaways- it’s always been excellent. Took my parents as they always look forward to going here when they visit.What a disappointment, the waiter an older gentleman was really grumpy as though he really didn’t want to be looking after us and we were the only people in the restaurant for the first hour as we had decided to eat early. Asked for some lime pickle and he said they didn’t have any, thinking it strange I asked another younger guy who was friendly and he went and got some immediately. The food wasn’t great and we all left disappointed with our visit.I think possibly the restaurant has changed hands as it use to be so friendly. Unfortunately the service from some staff and quality of food was not great-we will not be returning.

I ordered through Just Eat and when I saw that the delivery will be 1.5 hours, I cancelled the order. I was charged the full amount as “cancellation fee”, and I cannot get a refund. Common theft!

Curry delicious but don’t order chips! If you can call them that. Only offer was something free next time, that’s not really helpful when I want to eat now. There won’t be a next time, plenty of other take aways to choose from
