It all started quite badly when I felt I was being pressured to confirm my booking the Friday evening before Mother's Day. Then on arrival parking is terrible. Not a good start. I thought I'd made my mind up about this place.Once I entered the place looked very nice. It was busy (Mother's Day is one of the busiest) but things were working.They ran a fixed menu for the day and then from that point on things just started getting better and better. The fix r menu had lots of choice and there were NO supplementary charges for certain dishes (annoys me), even the cheese board didn't. I ordered the Sunday roast and Gables being an Italian themed restaurant I was very surprised when it turned out to be one of the best I've ever had. All the food was brilliant. Well prepared, presented and tasted delicious. There was a little hiccup waiting for one of the drinks but as i mentioned it was very busy. That aside everything went very well.I would like to return to try the pizza

A wonderful evening. Staff are lovely and food was delicious. I have a dairy intolerance and the staff accommodated above and beyond… even down to creating an off menu dessert for me!Will definitely be back?Thank you everyone at the Gables

Such a lovely sat night celebration dinner. The food was delicious and perfect (best octopus I’ve ever tasted) and the cocktails were fantastic, so tasty - you have to try the lychee martini and mojito a classic!! Service was great and the owner Theo made us feel so welcome and at home. Ignore the one bad review about seating - the tables are lovely and all well placed. Cannot fault this place, It’s worth the visit, we’ll definitely be back.

We booked for a family group of 13 including a baby , the food was excellent as was the service . I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant although it is quite pricy I would say you get what you pay for as the food is delicious , definitely book this venue again
