Friendly Cypriot restaurant on Adelaide Street in St Albans. We ordered multiple meze dishes like falafel, pitta, baba ganoush, grilled mushrooms, the grilled seafood platter with prawns and swordfish. All were freshly prepared and tasty. Service was good. The dessert chocolate bomb was really good.Worth a visit.

Hit and miss sadly. Having previously visited pre-Covid. Mothering Sunday lunch (reservation) and several dishes on menu unavailable (no doubt popular ones): Spanakopita, Baba ghanoush, banoffee pie unavailable.New staff taking orders and not returning, and then being over zealous clearing. Seemed lacklustre compared to other times. Disappointed by lack of vegetarian options even dolmades had meat and not recommended any by staff (given meat choices). The greeter was delightful and it was busy but thinned out. Nothing outwardly to be unhappy about, but just left feeling a bit neglected for service..Food was lovely what we tried except the dessert (creme brulee bit stodgy). Portions aren't large but pick several for mezze experience. They come relatively quickly if the staff take order well (we ended up asking more than once for food, drinks, & bill too). Vibe OK. Food good. Cost approx £25pp- with one shared mezze, 4 sides, 2 dessert, 2 alcoholical drinks, tap water and 1 soft drink.Will be back to see if it was one-off.

Loved it here. 4 of us went with the meza platter. More than enough for us. The soon to be is now booking this place for her quiet hen do. The food was amazing. Highly recommend the swordfish bites, best I've tucked into. Staff were 5☆ and couldn't fault them.

First visit here last Friday, we had a set menu.The dips at the start were incredible. Generous portions, lovely fun atmosphere. Felt like being on holiday!

Lovely friendly and fun service. Family feel with great value good food. We came with a 3 kids including a toddler and were wonderfully looked after. As we were leaving was becoming more a pre-going out crowd, so they clearly serve a broad demographic. Recommend a visit for sure!

We love this place so, after a decade or more of eating here, I thought I'd share the secret. This is a restaurant that absolutely nails what it sets out to do...This is a lively, friendly meze grill and the food and ambience is very Cypriot / Mediterranean. (I note some reviews saying it can get noisy - yes, it does at the weekends because it's always full and that's the kind of place it is). Treat yourself early or on a weekday lunch to sample the food at a quieter time.The food is always beautifully prepared and comes fresh off the grill to your plate. You can choose to eat meze-style (the fixed options are easy, varied and plentiful) or have more traditional courses to your meal if you prefer.My partner is coeliac but is always comfortable eating here - the friendly staff are knowledgeable about gluten and allergies - which means it's a place she can eat at without worry.We eat here regularly as a couple but also come with friends, family and have even booked it for parties and work events. Always in the knowledge that it'll deliver.As a final bonus you can pick a number of healthy choices so can indulge without feeling you've over eaten.A real gem of a place.

Just had a most successful lunchtime party to celebrate my special birthday with 40 people. Bar Meze could not have been more helpful and arranged it all in such a way that everyone felt welcomed and comfortable. The meze menu was outstanding with delicious well, prepared dishes to suit all tastes, including those with dietary constraints. Many guests commented on the professionalism and care shown by the staff as well as the friendly & relaxed ambience. Would thoroughly recommend it.

I like Greek/Mediterranean food and for this reason, the experience was very disappointing. The food was bland and very overpriced considering ingredients and portions. The atmosphere was good but not for a restaurant, there was a disco party during dinner. The waitress was nice but on her own for the entire place, there were no napkins, the cutlery has been thrown on the table. Maybe it was an unfortunate nightbut we won't repeat it.

We have gone here for the last couple of years as a group for a pre-xmas party. We will be back next year. Food was great, entertainment was amazing and the staff were brilliant. Please leave us enough room for us next year.

I would like to say a huge thankyou to all at anastasias for a lovely, welcoming and fun evening...as always!!! Our food was cooked to perfection and delicious, again...as always!!! Staff are always friendly and attentive, and will go the extra mile to make your experience a happy, fun night ?. Even my 9 year old son, who was welcomed with open arms, said what a great evening he had, especially plate smashing!!!! We look forward to going again ASAP. Thankyou anastasias!!! Xx
