We booked Cafe Rouge for our family members wake. Under such sad circumstances Fari the General Manager took great care of us, from booking to calling us ahead of the day to check if we needed any special dietary requirements, he thought of everything! We booked afternoon tea for everyone which came with tea and coffee refills and it was all perfect. We couldn’t believe what a beautiful building it is. Everyone was saying how impressed they were and we as a family were so pleased with how everything turned out. We will return to Cafe Rouge in St Albans, it was the most friendly and thoughtful restaurant there! Thank you Fari!

The restaurant manager was friendly, efficient and very welcoming. The waitress messed up our orders and did not bring a steak knife, even after being prompted. However, the food was excellent and the steak cooked perfectly.

4th of Feb we’ve booked a table of aprox 14 people including 3 kids. Food was delicious, staff very friendly and helpful. At the end we had our own cake for the birthday girl. Everything was lovely, we did enjoy the night by being with all our friends/family. The place itself is nice and cosy. Will definitely recommend. Can’t thank enough for our waitress Mihaela and the manager Mario. The have been so helpful! They engaged a lot with my niece and even the while party.

My husband and I went to Cafe Rouge in St Albans for lunch on 6th January 2023. To say the service was bad is not an exaggeration. I had Prawns for a starter and my husband had Calamari. The starter was good but before I had finished the waitress collected the Calamari and served the main course even mine though there was little room on the table. She was grumpy and made me feel as though I was a nuisance

At 4pm on Sunday 4th December myself and 3 friends went into Cafe Rouge for coffee and deserts. It was lovely and warm in the restaurant, joyous as it was chilly outside . There weren’t many people eating, probably 8 at most. Firstly we were asked if we’d booked, I said no we just wanted coffees and desserts. The lady then said no as the restaurant was too messy!!!! We asked again as we thought we’d misheard, but no the restaurant was too messy! Seriously do people not want business. I still can’t quite believe it happened.
Came here for afternoon tea with a buy a gift voucher. The interior is really cool Art Deco. Food was surprisingly good and staff were friendly - will definitely return.

What a beautiful restaurant this is. Food and wine always excellent with a lovely atmosphere. A very busy Friday evening which is good to see but just could have done with some more staff although having said that the two front of house staff members did a fantastic job and at times were literally running around. Will be back.

We had such fun here a few weeks ago on burger night (Weds). We went with my son and the waiter was so friendly and welcoming. We had starters (calamari) and the signature burger, all of which was delivered hot and was very tasty. My son still talks about what a fun night it was. Such a good deal at £50 roughly for the three of us. So nice when food is tasty and you have the added bonus of such a great welcome. Well done cafe rouge!
