We are happy to pay for flavoured food, but had lunch with kids there, it’s a total disappointment. Fish is greasy and we can taste it’s not fresh. Service a bit slow but there are only two tables there. There are better fish places in St Albans.

Fantastic takeaway fish and chips from here tonight. Gluten free batter was great (& not many places do it). Chips also delicious. Had to wait approx 15 mins as cooked to order but worth it. Its also cash only. Will definitely be back.Dietary restrictions: GF batter available

Hands down the best fish and chip spot in St. Albans. I’ve been visiting this place frequently since moving to the area about a year ago. Good prices, nice portion sizes, and delicious fish & chip. And even better service from the staff!
If you are looking for something simple but tasty to eat in St Albans, Fishy Plaice is one you should definitely try. The food is well prepared and not too expensive, the atmosphere is comfortable and chill and the service was top-notch with the staff being friendly and helpful.

The best fish and chips shop in St Albans. It was great with the old owners and still high quality with the new owners. Lovely people. Always serve you with a smile. Highly recommended. Our go to for Saturday night in evening meal most weeks.

Had the fish and chips special for £7.99 which is a smaller portion,I ordered mushy peas as an extra. The fish and chips were cooked to order, so the meal was nice and hot.The staff were very welcoming, the cafe is spotless.
