Came for afternoon tea. Lovely venue, great ambience and good selection of sandwiches and cakes. Disappointing that vegan and vegan/gluten free were the same cakes. It would have also been nice if we had been told that we could have had more sandwiches as we would have been able to modify our selection. But we really had a great time and the staff were very friendly and helpful

My Girlfriend and I went to the Brasserie for our Anniversary and the food was amazing. Service was very impressive with minimal wait times and extremely kind wait staff. After our meal we went into the cocktail bar and the bartender made us the best cocktails we’ve ever had! This place is much much more than a nice hotel, well worth the visit.

Probably the best spa I've been to. It's beautiful, modern and clean. There's lots of space in the spa area and enough loungers. The outdoor heated pool is amazing. It's very peaceful and is set around some beautiful scenic countryside.The hotel is also beautifully done, the rooms are really lovely and comfortable.The only thing that let's it down for me personally is the food in the restaurant (brasserie). Its very average. We didn't feel that the food really matched the rest of the venue and the kitchen needs to up their game. The restaurant also needs a bit of a refurbishment. Compared to the rest of the hotel the restaurant is tired and dark.I would definitely return but would book dinner elsewhere.

Went back again for another spa day and it does not disappoint.From the moment you enter the staff are super friendly, welcoming and accommodating.We had a spa day with massages booked where they always accommodate the type of massage you want. The spa itself is really clean with regular checks made by staff. They offer flip flops, robes, towels etc. The lunch included was really good. We had a salad starter bar with ceaser salad and middle Eastern options. The falafel is really tasty. The showstopper was the black lentil soup which is a dhal makhani which has authentic and addictive taste.We will be back again really soon

Cottonmill club spa was incredible but they do not allow under 18’s so bear that in mind, it’s not well publicised so my son wasn’t (initially) allowed for a swim. They need a separate section for kids otherwise they need to market themselves as adult only. I went to the spa the previous day with my 18yr old daughter and the facilities were spot on, one less star for me because of the under 18’s policy.

The staff at Sopwell, in particular the manager of afternoon tea on Saturday, could benefit from equality/unconscious bias/discrimination training. My group of 6 friends were made to feel unwelcome and faced a few challenges during what should've been a great experience. Firstly there wasn't enough vegetarian sandwiches for us - despite telling them of our dietary requirements weeks earlier when booking. Then we were told we needed to eat quickly and leave (this is at 4.30) and hour before closing. We were then told we couldn't have more than 3 takeaway boxes because they'd run out. When leaving (after basically being forced out) there were still many guests still seated who seemed relaxed and unrushed, and we saw many more takeaway boxes. By some miracle we were kindly offered, some more boxes the next morning, by an Asian male staff member who was the first to actually offer us good customer service. The hotel itself is lovely, everything is clean and rooms are fab. The spa was really relaxing - great pool and facilities. The breakfast was quite basic but the quality of food is above average. We will more than likely return because we won't let the actions of a few individuals affect us!

Wow! What a gorgeous place. Went for a spa break, the club spa is stunning, spotless, well thought out and well staffed to make sure this is kept and that there is no wait for drinks etc.The hotel is also spotless, the staff very attentive and polite.We had a treatment each which was fantastic definitely the best I have had.All the food we had was also delicious and well presented.Cocktail bar was fab.My only issue was when booking that they took my booking then gave us awful times for our treatments and didn't seem to want to budge, when speaking to other people in the spa this seemed to be their experience too. This was the only issue and was the only reason it wasn't a 5 star review.We would however be eager to return but would just make sure we were able to have treatment times confirmed on booking.

This was our second visit to Sopwell House both times were celebrating our anniversary.The gardens are beautiful.Dennis who is the manager of the brasserie was amazing. The steak was one of the best we had eaten.When we checked out we were served by Harris who was very helpful and polite.The only complaint I have, is that when we had the afternoon tea, which was lovely, we were not informed at the start that we could have more sandwiches if we wanted them.Also we were asked if we would like water a few times, so we ended up having it, we were under the impression it was tap water but was charged £5 on the bill. I think this should be made clearer to the Customer when being served.We hope to return again next year.

Never received any email confirmation of my spa day2. Wanted to have vegan afternoon tea but they said i should have requested this beforehand, however, this was not highlighted during the booking (via telephone) so i had to make do with what they had.3. Explained during the booking and during the afternoon tea we are celebrating my wife's birthday. I was advised they will do something special for her. It was noted thats all. However, there was another person's birthday and they were given a small dessert with a candle wishing them happy birthday.4. Advised £10 to using the weighing machine in the gym and then advised £20 by the spa reception

We had a business meeting event and private dinner at Sopwell House. The venue and grounds are lovely, but what made our time there exceptional was the staff. From the reception team to Oya, Teddy, Ash, Nosa & Emily (and I’m sure many others behind the scene) who made sure everything at our event ran smoothly and was always ready to help with a smile. They are a great asset to Sopwell House. Thank you.
We visited today for lunch at the Brasserie in Sopwell House. Our server was Aga who was extremely professional and friendly too. The food was fantastic and we felt very looked after throughout. I fully recommend a wonderful lunch here! Thank you again to Aga and her team for a great experience!

Stayed for a conference. The rooms were nice but the walls seem to be made of paper as it was very noisy. There was a smoke alarm on the ceiling above the bed which emitted a piercing green flash every 20 seconds which was fun to try and sleep through. Conference food was good but a strange mix of choices in the lunch buffet.

One night stop over on way to France . Staff fabulous, dinner excellent , planning to definitely return on way back home. Recommend the conservatory bar for a lazy afternoon. Had some issues with sat navigation post code ... Capt Neil isle of Man

What can I say but wow !!! Amazing!! Sam the wedding coordinator was fantastic from our first meeting to on the day. I only hope Sopwell realise what a gem they have there !! She is worth her weight in gold !! Sam, Vanessa and all the team were fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble. The venue was beautiful and the food was amazing so many thanks to the chef and his team. The reception and cocktail bar recently refurbished are great. We had family eat in both restaurants the night before at The Brasserie and Omboo and everyone said how good the food was in each. I would highly recommend this venue and will be returning asap !! Xx
