I have been using The Old Cottage fish and chips shop in Redbourn for about 3 years and in the past two months, the fish would not even get one star from me. Not quite sure what’s going on, but will NOT buy again. I and my family will be looking elsewhere to buy our fish and chips in the future.I have been buying ‘line caught cod’ and I think we are being served frozen fish which may not even be cod?I would welcome a comment from the ‘new owners’?Thank youA very disappointed customer.

What they sell as COD is not at all Cod it’s some cheap alternative which is nothing like Cod and should not be sold as Cod. it was some horrible thin white fish that stuck to the batter. Discusting. I will not go back. i doubt this new owner will stay in business for long.

New owners in the business I was told. The fish was fresh and the batter was nice and thin. The curry sauce is a must have. Will be coming back!

I used to work in a fish and chips in Kilburn and I can say the fish and chips is proper. Perfect thin batter and the fish was fresh and flakey. 5 star all

You can't beat good old fish, chips and mushy peas.

Just moved to the area and decided to give the local fish and chip shop a go.Have to say it was the freshest and best fish and perfectly cooked chips we have had for ages.We shall be back and hope the high standard continues,Thanks,Andy

I thought that this would be a nice fish and chip shop with what seemed to have had a clean appearance and good hygiene standards however I was completely wrong and when I opened my chip box I was disgusted to find dead and squished flies on my food I was truly disappointed and shocked as you would think that this would be the simplest of hygiene standards and not much to expect 'clean' and 'freshly cooked chips' which is what I was told however its seems even that is too much to ask for. I think that this should be taken into consideration before ordering anaything from here as it clearly has a lack of hygie and simple food safety!
