We arrived at lunchtime on a Monday after doing some walking around Tewinbury. The pub was open but there was no one there! Then Emma came out to greet us and confirm they were open. The only thing was they had no internet so could only take cash or payment by bank transfer. We decided to stay because we wanted to have some food. Emma was very friendly and accommodating. The menus were being updated so she wrote out the options for us. We had a drink each and enjoyed the unusual situation of a quiet pub all to ourselves! Some people may not have enjoyed this, but we did. While we waited we were given some home-made cake which was delicious. We had just missed the knit and natter morning :) Overall a very good (and unique) experience. The food was really nice and not a bad price either.

Lovely homely roast . Just what we needed on a murky Sunday afternoon. Warm fire and friendly host and hostess. Could help us enough

I visited the rose and crown for the first time about 6 months ago and revisited this month and what a transformation!!! Excellent service the place was fresh and clean , 100% improvement ?? I was in a party of 6 and would highly recommend for a night out ! Good food at reasonable prices and unlike a lot of pubs in the area had great local atmosphere!

Don’t know what some of these reviews are talking about but here’s my experience. Came here with my partner ordered 2 roast dinners ( which was a 10 out of 10 and made me feel back home at mums) and 2 Guinness’s. Staff was very friendly manager couldn’t be more polite and helpful and service was spot on. Even went the extra length and made me feel at home by offering us a free cup of tea or coffee after our drinks and dinner was over his name is Tom. The warm conversation with him during dinner also made me feel very welcome.

Was not even open on a Saturday night. Live in the village can't wait for the pub to be taken over by a company that knows how to run a successful pub

Over Heard the owner talking about doing drugs on the weekend.

Incredibly rude. The barman will ignore you and act mortally offended if you ask him to do anything related to his job. Wouldn’t go back with a gun to my head.

I have came to this pub a few times since my partner has moved into the area and have never had a problem until today. When we first arrived, I waited at the bar for a few minutes whilst the two bar staff were serving other customers, the lady bar tender said that she’d be with me in a minute, however the male bar tender had finished serving his customer and then immediately ignored me and started to serve the customers that had walked in a few minutes behind me. The male bar tender finally decided to serve me a coke and a forsters, however the coke was flat. When my partner went to complain and ask for a fresh one the bar male bar tender was rude and made us to feel that we had inconvenienced him and returned eventually with a small mixer sized bottle of diet coke and said that’s all we’ll get because there more expensive. Absolutely shocking service, we won’t be back in a hurry. But however defiantly come here if you want to be treated rudely, made to feel that you’re the problem and whilst inconveniencing the staff every time you ask for a service that they offer. Well done rose and crown!! You’ve smashed it today!!

Bad news, Asphalls cider is being replaced with the awful Inches which is taking over all the pubs in the area. One of my favourite pubs so can't drink here
