We Visited for a meal with our grandchildren Thursday evening 4 January 2024. The grandchildren went for the 3 course meal deal. The starter and children’s rump steak was excellent the pancake pudding needs improvement. The chocolate should be milk and not dark (most children prefer milk to dark) and the pancakes should be warmed and not served stone cold. On a very serious note the toilets are a disgrace. The cubicles are far too small and door locks are broken. We have visited this restaurant many times before and I don’t ever remember the disabled toilet being working. The good news is the staff are excellent and service is superb. What a shame the fabric of the building is so tatty and let’s the whole place down. .

Had a lovely staff Christmas breakfast, really great value and the food selection was great. Cooked breakfast taken to order and a good selection of continental breakfast and drinks, eat as much as you like!

We have been going to The Crows Nest for years and it was one of our favourite places for meal in a convenient location. However, yesterday was a real disappointment. We both wanted fillet steak but they only had one. I had the sirloin which was tough. The tomatoes and mushrooms which came with the meals were stone cold. The tomatoes looked like they had been slightly grilled at some point - goodness knows when. The mushrooms didn't look like they had been cooked at all. The choices seem to have diminished. Thee used to be salmon or tuna on the menu but not anymore. It's a shame as the serving staff are very friendly and we used to enjoy going there.

We enjoyed our meal at The Crows Nest, we had the 3 course Christmas Menu and it was very nice. I'd like to say the member of staff Andrew is a huge asset to the company. Andrew was our server today, he was kind, fun and very attentive too. Thank you Andrew for a wonderful experience.

My dad and I came here early evening when it was half empty. Even so the service was very slow, a table that came in 10 minutes afterwards were first served . We had enough we were going to pay for just our drinks and leave when the waitress brought our food which was one main and one starter. “It’s not McDonald’s!” She snapped. She got that right. So , bad service indifferent staff and breaded mushrooms that were like bullets. Avoid.

Great food and service, couldn't have faulted. However the restaurant decor is drab brown and the fittings are tired and worn. seats are stained and it was like a throwback to 1988. Needs a refit urgently, but otherwise the steak was supuerbly cooked and our waitress friendly and efficient.

If only all dining experiences were as good as this!! Excellent Food, Brilliant Service, and Tremendous Value for Money. Cannot criticise any aspect of our visit, we were seated promptly on arrival. Our server Bev was courteous and efficient, able to offer good advice and recommendations regarding our choice of food, which lived up to the quality we were led to expect. Overall a very pleasing visit and a credit to Beefeater restaurants, and The Crows Nest in particular

Service is very good and staff very attentive.Unfortunately food is of a very poor standard and very expensive for what you actually receive. In general the restaurant area is looking tired and need of some TLC.

Arrived yesterday evening for a confirmed booking at 9pm for my mother's birthday. When we arrived, I assume it was the "manager" asked us if we were a table of 9, multiple times we explained no just 6, to be asked if we were "expecting three more"? Again, we said no just 6 booked for 9pm. The "manager" then advised they had no room for us and went into an odd self-pity routine, advising he has had this all day and that it was the booking system's fault. However, I would counter that, if the booking system didn't work, it would have allowed us to book any time regardless? It looked to be a complete lack of table management in honesty, the tables were half capacity. We were offered to sit "in the bar" but that wasn't really the atmosphere we wanted. Very disappointing, especially as no contact in advance to advise booking couldn't be honoured and no apology whatsoever.

Really think this chain is down and out. The menu choice is little and basic and all the mains are at least £2.00 more than Greene King and more. The portions are skimpy and mean. Did complain as I only had 11 chips on my plate of gammon steak, and waiter brought more to table.

Table booked for 3 pm, eventually seated at 3.30 , orders were taken at 4 pm. Service was slow, I ordered Sunday roast and the roast potatoes were the worst I have ever tasted, the were stale and I suspect, reheated from last week. I did notice other diners leaving their roast potatoes untouched. Service was slow and I could understand why table bookings over ran. An unpleasant experience and one I will not hurry to repeat.

We’ve had many a good meal here , went today for my husbands birthday and daughter and grandson , service was terrible food not great at all , we believe that it was probably because we ordered if the lunchtime set menu , basically you get what you pay for. Staff not all but some just standing around chatting to the point we couldn’t be bothered to wait to have a pudding. Won’t be going back in a hurry unless a Sunday where at least it’s a decent roast. Thankfully we also put in our registration number as we discovered only by reading these reviews that you can get a parking ticket. It would be decent if the staff when greeting you at the door to mention with regards to putting your registration number in. My 11 year old daughter had to point it out to us
