Best burger had for many

My first ever experience of this place was a Breakfast Tray delivered to my office just before Christmas. £9.90 I paid (!) (there were also breakfast rolls at the same price delivered - they didn’t look great either) I was very underwhelmed indeed…. People have been raving to me about this place… why? ? See my photo… not great value for money, overcooked, and all very dry with no beans or anything similar to “wet it up”.

This was a first time experience of Cafe 77 and I was left somewhat confused. First things first, it is expensive, but I am happy to pay for good food that is made with care. The bacon cheese burger met that description perfectly. Excellent burger, good taste and traveled surprisingly well. The fries were also excellent. Still hot and well cooked. The hot dog, ordered by my wife was however a disaster. Tasteless ‘dog’ lost in a big white roll. Genuinely awful and went in the bin. The difference in quality between the two products was genuinely confusing. At £40 for the food (including delivery and tip) it proved a very, very expensive take away for one. I would nip in for a burger again if passing, but afraid would not risk delivery again on such expensive food given the inconsistency.

Just passing through looking at houses. Great sandwiches and good coffee.. Codicote looks like it needs a good coffee shop maybe this one can expand indoors?!

I discovered this place while sitting in traffic, the reviews were good so I decided to stop.I opted for the Sausage, Egg & Bacon bap which was tasty and fresh however I should have opted for the Cheeseburger as someone else ordered one and it looked really good. I will definitely stop by again.

After trying every burger place in Hitchin, this is hands down the best spot! The burgers, sauces, and friendly staff make it the ultimate place to grab a meal with friends.

We sat outside for breakfast. We had one large brekkie and one sausage, egg and cheese bun. With two hot drinks. It was delicious. Hot, well cooked, quality produce. We will most definitely return here for breakfast.

I had the best blue cheese burger I’ve ever had here! Plus the waffle fries with cheese are delicious. And there’s a “sauce wall” with so much choice for sauce fans like my husband. Plus it’s really nice to support a good local business. The price may seem steep to some, but it’s very much level with the prices of other places in Hitchin and it’s not like they keep the prices a secret! We love it, definitely give it a try :)

Lovely burger and hot dog. Just think a bit pricey £11 for a burger without chips. Friendly service. One member of staff was a bit loud and talked non stop which was a bit of a distraction.

Firstly, everyone should visit Hitchin - it is a rather beautiful market town centred around St Marys Church. It has many cafes and restaurants- including this. It is a gastro/hipster sort of place, with a comfy if very small dining area. I went for their large veg tray and bottomless coffee. For 14 quid, you do not get much. The plus side is it was full of flavour - enhanced by their Sauce Wall. There were plenty of meals being picked up by mopeds - so they are obviously doing the taste thing right. A cool little treat on payday.

Fabulous burgers! I had the blue cheese and my wife had the classic. Both were top notch. Fries were warm and crisp too. Bit of a wait but staff very helpful and friendly.
