We booked a 4 adults and a kid table for Festive Menu, pre-booked the food besides the child one as there was no festive menu for them. We arrived and confirmed the booking for 5 however the table was setup for 4 and we had to ask each for a Festive setup (Xmas hat) , cutleries, extra glass, etc. food was good, service a bit slow since it was not busy and food was pre-ordered. Surely there is space fo better.

We came to The Welly for Christmas Day and had such a wonderful time. The food was fantastic and the service from staff was great. The prices were reasonable for what we enjoyed. Thank you to everyone at The Welly!

Ate here on a Friday night and the food, atmosphere and staff were all amazing. There was also a singer/guitarist who added to an excellent evening. Will definitely be back. Thoroughly recommend!

I went to restaurant with 5 of my friends for dinner. The food was beautifully presented and tasted great. We will all be returning again in the New Year.

Fabulous works Christmas Dinner had at The Wellington, super welcoming, great service, attentive, excellent food, an all together end to end experience. From organising, with little changes to numbers that always happens, to the meal on the night. Highly recommended.

Lovely looking pub. Very slow service and average food. Staff struggling to cope with large party plus other tables. Waited 30 minutes for first drinks and a further 45 minutes for starters. We weren't in a rush, so didn't complain but wouldn't return if I were looking for a quick lunch.

Pre booked party of 12 for a family Christmas lunch. We waited 45 minutes for our drinks to arrive! Having placed our food order, we then waited an hour for the starters to arrive! 2 starters not very warm. The one order of calves, liver, and bacon was definitely not calves but pigs liver with rather a lot of sinew running throughout, making it difficult to cut. The remaining main courses were all good.Altogether, a bit disappointing.

Beautiful old pub and restaurant in the middle of Welwyn old town with an amazing menu and a great blend of historic architecture and a modern restaurant. The Sunday lunch and also the specials menu were incredible - highly recommend!
