Not impressed, had to ask for gravy to go with my meal, which on the menu was part of it, to be told it wasn’t included with chicken pie, agreed to provide some but when it came was almost cold, potatoes, veg and pastry lid was tepid, asked for warm treacle tart and clotted cream, tart was barely warm, And the clotted cream was only a teaspoon full, so was really a garnish, I sent it back and the 2nd one was even colder and again only clotted cream garnish , I can see the reviews were all good, have no idea what happened the night we went,

Had intended to book "The White Hart" but... ...one of the best mistakes I've ever made. Brilliant service, delicious food, good range of beers and great value. No car park so you may have to walk for a few minutes but plenty of free parking near the fire station.

We stopped by on a Monday evening for the 2-for-1 burger deal that was advertised on the website, the food was great however when the bill came we were charged full price as apparently the offer had ended and told that this was the fault of the Head Office who manage the website. The next day I contacted Big Smoke Brew online and now the offer has been removed from the site, but I never heard anything back from them - so marking down for service and value.

Overall enjoyed the meal as we did not have to cook it! However, potatoes were all overcooked though, and rather browned off/dry. The Venison starter was definitely Beef slices(we weren't born yesterday!) I think the Venison went to the table which had more people at it, round the corner near the fireplace! They definitely got more attention than we did, which is NOT right, as we paid the same amount for each of our Xmas dinners. We were cold where we were, so in hind sight should've asked to be seated in the restaurant where it may have been warmer and quieter. Music got progressively too loud--would've preferred it in the background, and would've liked more Carols rather than pop music. We did include a tip though, as the main waiter was polite and smiley. We would've ordered more drinks, if the waitresses had not taken so long/forgotten us!

I cannot recommend the food highly enough. Our family had one of the best Sunday roasts that we’ve ever had last weekend and the Christmas dinner that we booked today was truly outstanding. All supported by the fantastic bar and kitchen team. Thank you and keep up the great work!

Sal and His team went above and beyond to make sure the food and set up was perfect for my family and our private function. The food was amazing and guests said it was perfect, That scotch egg was epic and would have been loved by my husband so thank you for working your magic!

Soup was luke warm, nut roast was soggy and vegetables were cold. Chocolate dessert tasted good but was lacking in cream which made it difficult to eat as it made my mouth very dry. Staff were friendly but there were not enough staff to ensure food was served at the same time.v
