Based on pleasant past experiences of your fayre; friends booked us for our first meal on the island. We skipped the starter annd all ordered a main course. Although many empty tables, the food arrived after some time of waiting and three of the dishes were more a starter portion rather than a main course. The greek style kebabs cost £15.00 each; it consisted of one skewer of 3 small pieces of chicken, slices of pepper and 2 tiny crumbs of feta cheese on an open flatbread. As for our friend’s “8oz sirloin steak” costing £18=; the portion looked more like 5 ozs. and contained a large piece of gristle! On hindsight, we should have asked for the Manager but did not want to cause a scene in front of our hosts. All in all, the meal was poor value and we will have to twice about a return visit!

Christmas Dinner was excellent as was the service. Will definitely come back again on a regular basis. Well done Merrie Gardens Team!

Booked here prior to Christmas & everything was good Booked for Christmas Day & not so good, no Christmas atmosphere, staff really not sure what was happening ! Nobody really greeted us in a nice manner, no Merry Christmas just like any other day Complete confusion as to our order & pre payment of drinks, food etc Very disappointed as our first year of eating out on Christmas Day & being at home seems a better option

We visited here as heard they had new chefs since we came 2 years ago so thought we would give it a try and so glad we did as the food was amazing and the service was top notch Aiden the server went the extra mile and even made the deserts as the chefs were so busy, I would definitely recommend to book in advance as it does get busy at dinner times. Thank you to all the staff that made it such a great pre Christmas meal for us all.

We went for a family Christmas dinner. We had prebooked and had ordered from the festive menu. Kevin and Abi were great hosts. The Christmas Dinner was absolutely superb as we're the deserts. We all had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Thank you very much.

Although we spend a lot of time on the Isle of Wight this was our first visit to Merrie Gardens Restaurant. We called in on the off chance of getting a meal and was welcomed warmly by Kevin who showed us to a nice table. A good variety on the menu and we enjoyed the food and drinks as well as the atmosphere. Reasonable prices too so we will definitely return when next on the Island. The weather had been pretty awful and Kevin showed us a photo of the car park that had been flooded the week before, fortunately the large car park was much better this week. Thank you for making us feel welcome and for a pleasant evening.

My wife's and my food was ok but was not expecting too much. The reason why I would not recommend this place at all is the way they care for their beer. Going into the Marston's pub, I immediately ordered two pints of Pedigree and was looking forward to enjoying the taste I know. Unfortunately both pints were sour and totally undrinkable. When I took them back, the server was not surprised. Did she know or did she suspect the beer was off? If so, she deliberately sold us bad beer. I took a refund and would have left but we were hungry so I ordered a pint of Neck Oil (which was ok) and another different pint (can't remember which one) which was also sour!!! Two different beers off! Would not recommend Merrie Gardens Farm for their care of beer and their customers.

Good chain pub, quick service good range of drinks and cocktails, great offers if you sign up online. Free WiFi and they allow dogs on the hard floors, they even have dog treats as help yourself snacks. Food is good, chain pub, most options covered. Items from the grill such as steak or burgers are best for me or sharing platter.

Had the chance to have Sunday lunch yesterday. Well....... we were very impressed with the choices and the portions. I opted for the roast pork with crackling and stuffing. We were staying locally and chose the pub for its locality. Thank you to all the staff that made our dining experience a success. We will return for sure. Always good to find decent places to eat that are also dog friendly. Thank you.

Whilst staying at the Premier Inn opposite, we visited here for drinks. We didn’t eat here due to the reviews that we had read. Never seemed to be busy, but staff seemed to spend most of their time not visible to customers…..so often people were waiting to be served

This is a really nice pub for dining. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed and the decor and furniture is of a high standard. Not a huge menu, but the food is well presented and fresh. Plenty of parking too.

Friendly welcoming staff. Although there was a notice saying that food was taking 45 minutes, we received after 25. The sign was most helpful, knowing that the food was going to a while. Nothing worse than having to wonder if the order has been lost ! So well done on keeping everyone up to date. The food , when it arrived was lovely and both of us had a lovely well presented meal.
