Lovely hotel in a fantastic location. Staff were hardworking and helpful. Great ballroom for our rock n roll weekend. We will be back! If you are a pensioner bring your bus pass, the buses are frequent and take you all over the IOW including Osbourne House.

Although the hotel staff were brilliant and the food overall was good. The bedroom curtains were useless. If you like your room lit up all night with the streetlight bouncing back off the mirrored doors of the wardrobe. So even at 2am it felt like a bright sunny day at Noon then this is the hotel for you. Who in management thought it was a good idea NOT to fit blackout curtains when you have over bright street lighting just outside your guests bedroom windows. Three nights with very little sleep has made us feel we will never to return to this hotel. Company we travelled with will get a full report including photos.

Came here when the hotel in Ryde which we were due to stay in had been closed due to damage during Storm Ciarán, I believe.I had a lovely sea-view room and enjoyed watching the surfers when the waves were high.I am Coeliac and the hotel was very well prepared to deal with gluten free diners like myself. There are two lovely ballrooms and in addition to ourselves (tap dancers), there had been a group of ballroom dancers at the beginning of our stay and on our final day, a group of rock and rollers had arrived.

A little jaded but clean, comfortable, friendly and good value. Good ballroom for dancing breaks. Great location for walks along the coast.

No procedures in place to assist mobility impaired to evacuate IN CASE OF FIRE and did NOT accept that it was their responsibility. When stated I was not happy about this, I was told to go somewhere else! Luckily I was traveling with a coach company and the driver did sort out a more suitable room for me BUT still no procedure in place. IS THIS NOT A LEGAL REQUIREMENT?

The Trouville is an old hotel with beautiful old school values. It's a little worn but a great place.Staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming - from reception, room service to catering. The Trouville hosted a music weekend - this is my 2nd year and all of the above helped to make it a fun time!It is also nicely situated by the sea which is a real bonus. If you are wanting somewhere warm, welcoming and friendly, the Trouville is the place!

A bit behind with technology, but staff is great, helpful. Maybe you need some different spirits. But definitely be going back. Right on the beach. 100%

Visited the hotel to attend one of their regular afternoon ballroom 'tea dances'. Haven't stayed at the hotel, so I'm unable to comment on the rooms or meals. That said, ballroom is superb with a large, clean door with lovely decor that suits the art deco style of the hotel. The team dance was excellent and well attended. Lots of space on the floor to move even when popular dances were being played.Bar service was also good and nice to see local ales on sale. Helpful staff behind the bar and in reception.Location on the Promenade is great - meaning wonderful sea views from the ballroom and adjacent lounge.Noteworthy details: Superb ballroom - will visit again if there's a dance in when we're next on the Isle of Wight

Lovely hotel. Fantastic sea view from our room. Food very good and waiters and waitresses very hard working. All hotel staff very helpful. Absolutely stunning bay location. Though town looking run down.

Recently stayed at this establishment by way of a coach holiday. The reception areas ie dining room, ballroom, lounge bar area arebeautifully appointed. However the rooms are small and very dated but most of them have a lovely sea view. The rooms are clean and maid service very good. There is only one small lift that can accommodate 4 people at a time so can be very slow at busy times. The food quality, portions and selection leaves something to be desired to be honest its pretty poor. Some of the staff need to be re-trained in customer service as they don't have a clue. Quick note on Sandown its self it's a sad rundown place full of derelict vandalised buildings empty closed shops a place in full declineRooms: Old tired and datedSafety: Full of street vagrantsWalkability: Very hillyFood & drinks: Drinks are OK reasonably priced. Food is rubbish
