Such a brilliant eve at Barkada! Aiza and Rob hosted a private Filipino feast for our group of 10 friends over Christmas and it didn’t disappoint ! We had the whole place to ourselves and were blown away by all the delicious food and cocktails and also Aiza and Rob’s hospitality and generosity. They really looked after us and even set up karaoke which we all thoroughly enjoyed.Having grown up in a Filipino family, I was very excited to come and try this place out. For true authentic Filipino cuisine head to Barkada.Vegetarian options: We had a jackfruit adobo which we really enjoyed !

We had the best evening at Barkada! I got in touch about booking the restaurant for a Christmas gathering for 10 people and Aiza was so accommodating, creating a private dining experience just for our group. She put together the most incredible menu with all the superstar dishes from the menu, even tailoring it to fit our group’s dietary needs. There really was SO much food, and all for a very reasonable fee, especially since we had the whole place to ourselves. Standout dishes for me were the chicken wings, pork and shrimp soup- honestly I couldn’t stop eating! And the cocktails! Everything was so special and Aiza made us feel so welcome, and with great communication prior to our visit. We can’t thank Aiza and the team enough for making our night so fun and feel so personal. Thank you guys, we can’t wait to do it again!

I stumbled upon this restaurant on my first visit to Broadstairs and what a lucky surprise to see a Filipino restaurant! I've been missing good Filipino food in England and Barkada was exactly what I needed. I got the pork belly rice bowl which was marinated authentically and grilled perfectly - reminiscent of my Tito's grilled pork belly. I also got the ube cheesecake which was yummy, chewy, ube perfection. Highly recommend. The restaurant was also beautifully decorated with many elements of Filipino culture - baybayin symbols on a poster, paintings of workers in the rice fields and woven decorations on the ceilings. Walking in felt like stepping right into a restaurant the Philippines. The service was fantastic and dogs are allowed!

Great halo halo! Went for lunch today and got two rice bowls as well. Prices are somewhat steep, I was told I would need to pay an extra off-menu 50p for a small amount of chilli oil after I ordered my meal.

We ate here as a family (children 12 and 10) and had a delicious, memorable meal in a cuisine we'd not tried before. This is a restaurant run by welcoming people who are passionate about the Philippine food they serve. Everything was fresh and tasty -- particularly recommend the chicken skewers and the hot chocolate.

Dropped by here as was craving for some filipino food while in Broadstairs. Had the longganisa bowl and it didn't disappoint plus it is really affordable. Enjoyed the ambiance and loved it even more that it is so close to the beach.

Popped by for lunch whilst on a day trip to the beach and everything about Barkada is amazing. Such a pretty little restaurant serving authentic pinoy lunch bowls and delicious desserts. We had the pork and longganisa, basque ube cheese cake and the halo halo. It all tasted as beautiful as it looked.

Enjoyed my lunch here. Ordered the chicken adobo, dumplings and steamed clouds for dessert. Worth visiting!

An exciting new Filipino restaurant in Broadstairs, run by a lovely couple, Aiza and Rob. Small intimate place with only 12 covers. A great welcome, both Rob (front of house) and Aiza (cooking) were very friendly and chatty. Open plan restaurant so you can see into the kitchen, which is nice. Onto the menu, fairly limited choice, but is set to change regularly. A good variety, so something for all tastes. Chicharon (puffed pork scratchings) to nibble on while checking out the menu. Pork skewers cooked to order, absolutely amazing, we ordered an extra portion, so very tasty. Wonderful flavours, took me right back to Dumaguette! Rice bowls for the main course, pork and a chicken adobo, absolutely wonderful with Rice and pickled veg. Ube liqeure and cheesecake for dessert, incredible. I would highly recommend this place, and look forward to coming again soon. Maraming salamat!

We travelled from London to try out this restaurant as read great reviews! We loved everything about it from the rum mango drinks, the super tasty pork belly, chicken inasal and longganisa rice bowls, all the way to the best halo halo and ube cheesecake in the UK (which can even beat those in the Philippines)! Our only regret is not being able to try the dinner menu too!! Please open one in London!

I was really looking forward to dining here due to all of the amazing reviews. However I was slightly disappointed sadly. I thought considering the price of the sharing platter the quantity of food was quite a small portion for two people (if you have a large appetite one of the platters could easily feed one person, however for £40 it makes it an expensive meal). I didn't think the meal was value for money sadly. The spring rolls were the highlight of the platter though! I just wanted more! The decorations in the restaurant are lovely and felt very intimate and authentic. Plus the host and chef were both very welcoming. However they were charging their phones behind where my partner was sat in the restaurant and checked their phones for messages a few times through our meal which I found rather unprofessional and off putting. These are my personal opinions, but I definitely acknowledge the vast positive reviews on here :)
