We visited with a family member while they were around to see us. The food was lovely but the service wasn't the best on this occasion. We understand it was the day after boxing day and sure that the staff where a little burnt out but still would expect a better level of service. We would visit again for the ambiance, the views and the food and would hope that the waitresses would be a little more ready to help is allOverall good experience

Proof positive that the modern English pub can tick all the important boxes - great location, excellent food, dogs completely at home and genuinely friendly locals.

Nice pub and restaurant, food was great. The dining area is a little drafty. A few of the windows let cold air in where we were sat in the conservatory area, which is a shame, but other than that, it was nice there.

Couldn’t fault a thing. Bear Island on tap was delish, comfy rooms (with an epic view) and breakfast - wow. Be back soon!

Went for a weekend to a family 60 birthday and had a wonderful time. The rooms were very clean and lovely decor. We were in the apartment at the top which had a balcony and upstairs it was like a turret where you could see for 360 ° over the sea and it had a TV. A very relaxing room. The staff you couldn't fault nothing was to much trouble for them. At breakfast I asked for a coffee from the machine in the bar, no problem. The breakfast was very good with a large selection to choose from.We have stayed in many hotels, but the Botany bay is up there with the best of them.Definitely will go back. Highly recommend.

Wow, Wow, Wow !!!!We stayed here on their Winter Promotion.Bed, Breakfast & a 3 Course Evening meal just £150 per night a Couple. The staff were friendly & hospitable. Our room was clean & beautifully decorated.Okay, we could nitpick over some scuffing on the bath panel. But for Value alone, this remains an Outstanding visit. The views across Botany Bay were just the icing on the cake.As "Arnie" says...I'll be back !!!

DO NOT STAY HERE! I don’t even know where to start for this review. I stayed here with 2 other guests, each with our own rooms. A summary of the issues is below:- Room too hot or too cold, with no in between. Beyond freezing upon arrival to the point we found a local supermarket at 9pm to buy extra warm pyjamas, then when waking up at 8am room like a sauna.- En suite bathrooms not heated. Too cold to even take a shower. Mine smelt of curry, whilst another of our party’s shower had bugs.- One plug socket in my entire room… had to purchase an extension lead from the local supermarket.- ‘Single room’ absolutely tiny. No room to move.- One of our party was in a double room on the ground floor, and they could hear everything that happened in the room above including watching tv, talking, using the bathroom. Could not sleep until 00:30 due to noise.- Too many dogs at breakfast- 5 dogs in a small room. Dogs barking loudly and could smell dogs. Generally too many dogs around the hotel too, felt like staying in a zoo.- Breakfast food terrible- two of our party ordered salmon baps and did not take more that one bite as the salmon was revolting. I had hash browns and beans, hash browns were swimming in oil and beans had no flavour. The positive of this hotel was the little biscuits and hot chocolate in the room.

I cannot praise the staff at this hotel high enough. They really went above and beyond to assist with 2 of our crew members who had the pleasure of staying at the hotel. Thank you to Toni & Laura for the lovely phone chats and making our job a lot easier.Think we will have to make a visit ourselves in the near future :)

Super food and wonderfulLocation great for a relaxing few days away .We had a ground floor room window looking out on people's feet walking past but felt little stuffy in the room so next time I would book a sea view and pay the extra ..Enjoyable place great for a walk along the bay .Roast dinner was fantastic and service spot on.

Stopped off here for a pint. Lovely place/nice terraces to sit out if sunny. Can have a walk along the grassy front with loads of benches and great views. Moretti lager approx £6.60/pint ( Sept 2023). Free parking but need to book in your Reg Number as you enter. See photos for menu.

Me and Wiffy did a road trip from NW UK to SE UK. Four days, three hotels ( and a stop over at Gretna ❤️.The night staff were amazingly versatile, and Wiffy checked in hours B4 me as I was still in London.Oh....just remembered be very careful where you park your vehicles as there's free public parking, but the carpark areas are abysmally sign posted, by intention!!!!! You will get a fine in the post a couple of weeks later . This may affect your memory of the stay at Botany Bay but will ( hopefully) either make you more aware or decide not to go back to Botany Bay hotel. I arrived after 11pm. My wife was in the room, and I had no cell signal, but thankfully, the night staff noticed me wondering around the hotel and let me in and more importantly told me to be sure to register my cars reg in the morning or I'd get a heavy fine.Okay, the staff were doing their best but the lack of training was testimony to the brewery not giving a damn , it may be possible that the brewery is more focused on the carpark fines than returning guests?‍♂️.The room we had was a Seaview balcony room, and as I said, it was late at night, so I opened a bottle of nice red wine and sat with Wiffy to enjoy the sea air. Then, the SWARM joined us( see pics). Again, the night staff were amazingly versatile. I went to reception and the guy just laughed and gave me FOC a can of bug spray, then added we are right by the sea your balcony is open and your room lights are on.......of cause you have little flying visitors.Ps the balcony rooms are premium but not usable. So, in short, don't open your sea view balcony .Now to breakfast, and I thought the SWARM was bad, the young server's didn't have a clue there had been a wedding the day before so the entire breakfast restaurant and a large part of the bar area was packed, most of the menu was off, but time after time the servers handed the menus out WITHOUT mentioning most of the menu was unavailable. No salmonNo avocadoNo benedictNo muffinsIronically plenty off fried eggs but No omelette. HOW???I felt really sorry for the service staff. There just wasn't anyone in charge of anything, and when the food you didn't desire turned up, it was cold and presented as if it had been thrown on the plate in frustration.....tbh I could hear the shouts from the kitchen proper Melt down of professionally practice. The Bay is beautiful and definitely go there, but equally don't fund the shambles of Botany Bay Hotel or the draconian cash cow parking.I wish the best for all the staff, that they find an employer that cares not only for them but the customers.

The weather was warm room had two fans, which was already on but the room had small windows, so no real air circulating .breakfast was a bit disappointing on the upside location is good and staff very friendly and helpfulRooms: As the above room was warm with two fans, which didn't really help

Perfect coastal location with lovely sea views. Room comfortable and clean. Good breakfast, and we enjoyed dinner in the restaurant. Great outside area for a drink or two! Very efficient 'head waitress' at breakfast and 'young man' at the bar ?Our observations are more staff needed in the bar area as extremely busy. Also no-one on reception for around 30 minutes when we needed some milk and nothing to distinguish a staff member unless wearing a Whitstable Bay Apron - 3 employees.
