Delicious lunch again..... Second time of eating here within a month. So impressed with the service and standard of food. Both times we ate off the set lunch menu, excellent value and good sized portions. Strong menu emphasis on local game, so venison, pheasant and partridge all featured on menu recently.Vegetarian options: slightly more adventurous vegetarian selection, for example caramelized shallot, chilli beetroot and brie bruschetta and mixed nut roast with seasonal veg.Parking: Plenty of off road parking but gets busier from 1pm on.

Really nice food. We walked in on a Sunday afternoon after a walk in the woods half assuming we wouldn't be seated. They sat us straight away.Food was lovely. Nice chilled atmosphere. Fully recommend.

Had to hunt down my gin and tonic, found it on the bar. Stuffed pheasant a little dry.Staff very friendly. Rest on meal was fine.

Visited for a lunchtime meal. The selected lunch with 3 courses for £25 was a great selection and varied menu. Great, classic pub food with welcoming service in great historical pub surroundings. Food was great, selection of beers was equally great and the place was busy with a great atmosphere! Highly recommend!

As a couple that both work weekends ! We don’t have time to cook Sunday lunch . So each Sunday we have a takeaway from The George and I must say it never disappoints!!! With a fantastic choice on the Sunday lunch menu , we never get bored and have tried all the meat dishes , all of which have been superb. Just like a home cooked meal . Fresh veg crispy roasties , tender meat and home made Yorkshire and gravy . Definitely recommend ?

Fabulous food . 3 diners , 7 different choices and 9 empty plates ... every mouth full was a delight .. the list of local supplies was a lovely touch too , showing support for other small businesses.. my only shock was that the place wasn't packed to the hilt ! It definitely should be .. .Ladies your doing everything right .. we will without a doubt be back . .Many thanks
