Quiet Turkish place in Chatham. Meat a bit hard to chew. Bread not too fresh but all in all not bad. Service was great.

Took out my wife of 4 years on our anniversary to try out this restaurant and got to say thoroughly disappointed. Starter took 45 minutes to be brought out, mains took another hour to be served, despite it not being busy. Overall not a great service, waitress didn't seem to care much. avoid at all costs!!

First time here and called in on the off-chance, so pleased we did lovely food friendly helpful staff and as an added bonus there was a live act who was very good. Would not hesitate to go back next time we're in the area.

Very unhelpful and unapologetic when an issue arose with our delivery. We ordered a delivery around 5.15 and were advised it would be with us 'within 45 minutes'. After almost an hour I rang and was told it was out for delivery but it did not turn up. When I rang again, I was told I'd get a call back but I didn't. After almost 1.5 hours I rang again and the lady I spoke to was very dismissive, advising again that it was out for delivery and that it was not their responsibility now. She became very short and was not at all concerned that we did not have our food. However these were their own drivers and we had paid for delivery. The food eventually turned up and was nice but the service was appalling.

Found out that under new ownership since October 2023, so recommendations to me were based on friends experience with previous owners.The manager was friendly and very attentive, asking lots of questions, explaining their menu when asked, telling me that the interior will be changed in the near future.Anyway, for starters we chose Calamari, Garlic Mushrooms with Cheese, King Prawns, and Halluomi. We then all helped ourselves to bits and pieces of each. The starters were plentiful in portion size, with all choices being great, especially the garlic mushrooms with cheese.For mains we chose a mixed grill, chicken shish, lamb ribs, and chicken wings and chips for my daughter.The chicken and lamb shish were both tender and full of flavour, and the lamb ribs were great. They all came with slad and bulgur (I can only describe it as a cross between rice and cous-cous).The mixed grill was plentiful in size and looked appetising, but my father in law enjoyed that all to himself ?, so I can only assume it was good. My daughter enjoyed her chicken wings tooWe were given bread on the table, which was warm and full of flavour too.We were definitely made to feel welcome, and will definitely return. Good to know that they deliver too.We were at the restaurant early (5pm booking), so were the only people in the restaurant, however, there was a constant stream of delivery drivers collecting orders for delivery.It was my daughters birthday the following day, so tye manager gave her a small dessert on the house as well.Parking: A few parking spaces on the street just a couple of doors down from the restaurant , where you use the RingGo App or good old cash to pay for parking.

Returned to Selale recently after a longish break due to Covid and ill health, was surprised to learn it had changed hands but what hadn’t changed was the fantastic food , very generous portions, served by a lovely person who was polite, friendly and very attentive though not intrusive. We’ve always loved Selale and were not disappointed on this visit. Was lovely to hear about the future plans for the restaurant and wish them every success in their venture. We will be returning again and look forward to enjoying some more of the delicious food. 5* food and service. Well done.
