Went in for our usual tea/scone…kids treats…some guy stood behind counter doing nothing…and the lady behind counter in cafe didn’t quite know how to organise our order…we were only ones there…we walked out for the first time in 2yrs of going to this place! It’s organised chaos…entitled volunteers tearing up a good community shop!!

Having been to see the gardens at Great Maytham Hall (lovely),which don't provide refreshments, rang first & were told plenty of cake, coffee & tea available plus they did lunches & breakfasts too. Weren't disappointed, able to have the big table inside (it was a hot day), enjoyed delicious tea & cakes, a very welcome break. A pretty well stocked place for a village shop with post office facilities too. Pleasant staff made it well worth the visit. Will def go again.

I've used the cafe and the shop before and it was very pleasant, I asked after eating and shopping if my 5 year old daughter could use the toilet which they were fine with, I went in there today and asked if we could use the toilet and was told by the grumpy woman behind the food counter that they haven't got one and I would need to use the village green toilet, needless to say I didn't bother eating or shopping this time and will in future not bother to go there again.

We stopped here today for refuelling on our cycle ride. The cafe had been warned in advance there would be a large group and they had reserved a table for us. Super food and service, the macaroni cheese went down well as did the delicious sausage rolls. Piping hot coffee and lovely cakes. All served so quickly and efficiently. Will definitely keep returning to this lovely community cafe on our rides. Thanks so much ladies ! Lovely food and service. Just what we needed. See you soon.

I love this little community cafe. One of our cycle group rang them ahead of our visit to warn them that a large group of hungry and thirsty cyclists would be descending on them. They reserved a table for us inside. Food and drink was served so quickly and efficiently. We have been to other places where we have had over an hour wait for a simple sandwich. The sausage rolls were yummy and several of our group hungrily hoovered macaroni cheese! Cakes delicious and coffees well made and piping hot. Will definitely be returning ! Thank you ladies for refuelling us to finish off the rest of the ride !

Poor customer service was going to sit outside but asked where the toilets were first before ordering for my pregnant partner but we’re refused use of the toilet as we hadn’t ordered

A beautiful little shop, well stocked if not expensive but you pay a premium for a village shop. The woman in the cafe is so very rude I wouldn’t bother venturing in there. So vicious. The post office don’t put parcels through for the same value or ease as other counters. I would only go there if you are returning a prepaid item.

A great asset for the village

This shop has been an asset to many in the village and beyond during lockdown, stocking a wide variety of groceries, gifts, alcohol, stationery and cards. The café makes it a lovely community hub too. The people make the place so warm and welcoming.

On a short break and staying local we found the Community Shop a delight. So many villages and rural areas have lost local shops /post offices etc. These little shops are the heart of any community. It is where people meet/ chat and get involved. It is a place where people who live alone and have little contact with others can meet up . The coffee and cakes were very good and the shop well stocked. But by far the most important asset this Community Shop offers is to act as a focal point for the village folk. Well Done Everyone.
