we come here for dinner tonight, we ordered starters they were lovely. we then all ordered steak. my steak came out with fat chips when i ordered skinny, i sent it back and got some skinny ones. then my skinnie fries were cold and my peppercorn sauce was cold including my cousins. i sent it back and a knew meal was made ! it arrived and i couldn’t eat it due to the steak being awful and fatty. the lady that served us was rude however she then started being nice again. i used to come here all the time. i will not return again. there was also only 4 of us and table of 2 next to us in the whole restaurant!!! this is disgusting. i have photos but i can’t upload.

We are regular customers of 'The Plough,' especially at Christmas, for entertaining our family. Our waitress on this occasion was 'EMMA,' whom we found to be very customer orientated, making sure everything was OK during our visit. Thank you :) As for the 3 course meal (apart from one starter having very little amount of prawns 4 in total), the food was to it's normal excellent standards. We're looking to book again very soon.

We came in the evening with four people. All had different meals. It's good pub food, but not amazing. The service was very friendly and attentive.

Emma - very pleasant, tidy, polite and attentive. Meal was excellent. Interior could benefit from improvement but otherwise acceptable. On a personal note we do not like staff with long fingernails and tattoos in a restaurant area (that is not Emma our waitress) and do not like being addressed as "you guys" (again -not Emma) Apologies for being old fashioned!!

Meal was really nice, husband’s steak was cook as asked for and my spare ribs were really meaty. Not rushed at any time and were well looked after by Emma. Thank you

Decided to have Christmas Day dinner at the Plough rather than just the two of us at home.. Booking process is a bit last decade if I’m honest. When I originally submitted a booking request online, I was called back promptly but told that pay,met was due immediately but I couldn’t pay online or over the phone and I had to come in to the restaurant to do so. Bearing in mind it wasn’t exactly on the door step and a 20 mile round trip, this seemed unreasonable to me. Anyway, after originally deciding not to bother based on the above, I happened to be passing the restaurant a week before Christmas and popped in on the off chance and luckily they had space available still. But seriously for 2024, this needs looking at. Most other restaurants and businesses can take payment online these days! Anyway, on to the meal itself. Food was ok if somewhat bland, although no Brussel Sprouts served with the turkey, surely that’s a staple of a Christmas Day dinner?! For the portion sizes I’m not sure it was worth the money. Service was brisk, no sooner had we finished the starter, the main appeared, and ditto for the dessert. Felt like they were keen to get us and other dinners out a quickly as reasonably possible so the staff could clock off. Special mention to Emma, our server. She was really friendly and welcoming, a real credit to the establishment. Even took my joke about her looking like someone from Eastenders in er stride! Would we come back at Christmas? Jury still out on that, maybe as a last resort.

Meal was fabulous, Emma was the perfect hostess. Food was beautifully cooked. We have never had bad service at this restaurant. Fully recommend.

We booked The Plough a couple of weeks ago for a family Christmas get together, & the service we received was outstanding. The waitress Emma was brilliant with our large group: attentive without being intrusive, friendly, and extremely ‘on-top’ of everything, which as we had such a large group (13 people) made our dining experience even more enjoyable. So much so that after this visit we decided to cancel our annual Xmas Eve family get-together at another local restaurant, and go back to The Plough. Once again we had Emma as our waitress, and the previous experience was echoed tonight; Exceptional service, food was all great and we left knowing that that was a new favourite family-friendly restaurant. We will definitely return and have already planned our next visit.

Went today for my Son's Birthday, it was okay, but, nothing special.I had the mushrooms for starter, dislike BBQ sauce, little else to offer other than versions of mayo or tomato ketchup. Mushrooms arrived, rolling around in a rather large bowl, absolutely no presentation.Rare steak was actually medium rare, again no presentation. Really disappointed. The service wasn't great, the Waitress was pleasant and she tried, but it was too busy for her to be on her own.Having worked at this Beefeater many years ago, it was sad to see the costcutting on the ingredients and presentation of the food.I left not desperate to return, even though l was suitably full and it wasn't unpleasant, just wasn't great.

Our experience was lovely, we got seated even when busy. The waitress Emma was extremely helpful , friendly and quick with service. Will definitely be returning.
