I chose la Scala to take my sister out for her birthday as it was a lovely small quaint restaurant. We picked a quieter time as my sister has severe learning difficulties and struggles with very busy places. I phoned in advance and explained to the manager. That it was my sister's birthday and her challenges that she has. I couldn't have wished for a better place to take her from the moment we walk through the door. We were greeted beautifully and right from the start they made My sister feel really special and important. She absolutely loved it. She was calm. She enjoyed her food. the manager was are waiter for us the whole time we was in there. He spent time talking to my sister. And making her feel at ease. He asked her where she would like to sit and that she could sit absolutely anywhere in the restaurant which she absolutely loved .I have such a beautiful photo of her. With a great big smile on her face. I haven't seen her that happy in a restaurant for a long time. I can't thank them enough. The food was amazing the atmosphere was really fun and comfortable we would definitely recommend it to everyone.

This has got to be the worst steak I’ve ever had the first one was inedible and raw the second one must have been microwaved it was so hot the vegetables were raw not even aldente My local Co Op does a better steak Being a steak connoisseur normally getting my steak from Donald Russel for a restaurant to serve this shoe leather should be ashamed of them selves And either change there supplier or take it of the menu Rather than embarrass the poor waitress. P/S the mushroom resoto was very tasty.

Ate here on a Friday night in Dover. Friendly service, good food. Suspect pasta is the best option. Nice decor. Reasonably priced. Worth a visit.

Chef was not very friendly upon our arrival, however the waiters were nice. Most importantly: food was not fresh. Pasta was ok but the seafood was not fresh: shrimps were doughy, mussles had a strong (bad) smell, fish was overcooked and didn't taste fresh. The starters we ordered were bland, not seasoned, very small portions, garlic bread without garlic and the mozzarella didn't taste like mozzarella at all and was hard like stone. We had to leave most of the food on our plates. We expected proper Italian cuisine for this price and for the elaborate menu they displayed.Sadly, I would not recommend this restaurant at all.I hope the restaurant kitchen can take this feedback and improve upon it to match their nice interior design.

We went there last night for my birthday I had ordered the mussels for my starter and they were off. They were not helpful at all, they did not give me a choice to have something else. I then had the seafood linguine for my main meal and they had put the off mussels in that so again I told them they were off they did not care just kept telling that there were not but they would not smell of taste them. They took it away and again I was not offered anything else so I sat there the whole night with nothing to eat. My husbands and brothers meal was missing items from them. After this experience I can honestly say I will never be going back. The service was poor and the food was disgusting. £130 that I not happy paying for I might as well off just burnt it.
